Name Change?

This is silly but Im still trying to figure out how I will write my signature with my new last name. Have any of you girls practiced? Is anyone not changing your last name, or using a hyphen?

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been practicing signing my new last name since we started dating lol. I'm changing my last name to his and taking my current last name as my middle name.

Being that my father had five girls and one boy and that i am African and my fiance is African American, I have decided to hypernate. It just means so much to me to keep my African Identity. I just refuse to let go of my madien so i will keep my father's name and add my married name to the end.

Although my FI probably would bet the house that I've done this, it never occurred to me to practice my "new" signature. I will be changing my last name to his though and using my maiden name as my middle.

One day I sat down and tried writing my new name...it was hard! His last name has four more letters than mine, but for some reason it seems extra long! So it almost felt like my hand got tired while I was trying to get through it....LOL! I need to find a way to just scribble my new signature so it's not as tiring...

I won't be changing my name. I'll keep it professionally but won't mind if folks refer to me as FI's name either. I know it'll come with being married. For my personal life, I'll go with FI's last name and for business (docs/work), I'll just still with my current name.

Funny you mentioned that because I had to sign a volunteer slip for my son's school and since the event is held after the wedding, I signed it Traci Smith Lackey and then I just stared at it! lol

So funny that I actually did this earlier today for the first time! (We're doing state testing this week in Texas, so I can't do much!)

It's weird. I can't get used to the "signing" part. My current sig is pretty funky, but I'm used to it, ya know?

The other thing is my nickname: It's C-Rod. For like the last 8 years; it even followed me to my new school/district last year. Everyone's been joking about me being C-Wat. It just doesn't work

LOL!!! I was practicing today!! LOL! In class! I was bored. But I am still not positive of what I am going to do. He really don't want me to hyphenate though.

I want to hyphenate my name, but I don't think he's going for that. I already have a burning hate for cursive, so my signature is one of the few things I can write in cursive. I can NOT write his last name in cursive, so it would really clash with my signature. My name now is Tyonne A. Boyd and I want it to be Tyonne A. Boyd-Godfrey. That way, I can sign my name like I already do and add "-G." (in cursive) to the end. lol.
