Encouragement

I just wanted to encourage any bride-to-be's out there, that if you're experiencing WAY higher than normal arguments/bitter thoughts toward one another/etc. to keep seeking God through the trials.

Satan's biggest foothold on people is convincing them that he is not real and is not active. He desires death--death of your marriage, friendships, self-concept, trust.

However, I just wanted to remind you that Jesus conquered death so when things get hard, cling to God.

    Amen!

11 days out and FI and I are fighting over the DUMBEST details!  Fortunately we both laugh at it later.

I notice a huge difference when we are making extra efforts to do our QTs or not!

Thank you so much for that.  I needed the reminder- I am starting to get a bit stressed out.  :-(

Good reminder - we were having really dumb arguments.  Fortunately we had a session planned with our pastor for counseling and we were able to get it out last week!  It's been much better since then!

Good points made!  Satan is against families so he will do whatever is neccessary to keep us from being happy!  We can't let him win!

Thank you SO much for this reminder. I have 3 days to go and I'm fighting with my maid of honor (my best friend) and stressing over everything. I was up all night last night tossing and turning, until I remembered something FI told me a while back- that when he can't sleep, he prays. So I prayed for all the things going on right now and for God's will and strength to be felt in the coming days.

I think we all need this reminder every once in a while!
    Thanks again.

That is SUCH a good reminder. We've got under a month until our wedding and my mother just told me this morning that she's been talking to my dad about a divorce. :-( This is the first time I've heard of this- Talk about trials! It's hard to have confidence in the whole idea of marriage when there is so much brokenness all around. I just wish I had more stable, God-centered relationships around me to look to! It scares me that most of what I've learned about what a relationship should look like is through my parents. But I know God has his own definition of marriage that every couple can only strive to better immitate as the years go on. As long as its centered on him- that is all He asks of us. It's not about whether we are happy or not but it is about becoming who God created us to be- a son and daughter continually drawing close to Him! Of course, being happy often comes as a result :-) but no marriage is perfect!

Thank you so much for posting that, I needed to hear it...we are up against an ultimate force and that is why things can get so crazy at times. I'm really starting to get overly stressed with the wedding planning, work and personal stuff. I know that I need to just STOP and listen to God and meditate in his word...

Thanks, things are crazy between me and my fiance's families. we haven't even been engaged a month and we are arguing a lot more. but i know he's who the Lord wants me to be with and it's holding on to truth that He provides in scripture.
