Snarky Brides

I hate it when....

vendors (or even just people in general) tell you they're going to do something right way and then don't, causing me to look like a crazy OCD person when I have to hunt them down later (like 4 days later!)  to see what happened.  I get that some venders are just really busy, especially during summer wedding season-but then don't tell me you'll do it today, when you really don't have time until next week.

I also hate it when people interchange the use of the words "borrow/borrowed" and "lend/lent" (espcially when they are an English as a Second Language or ESL teacher).

Ok, your turn....GO!

  • my DJ cancels via text message 7 weeks out, because of an issue that came about over a month ago. Like I'm going to find someone for a holiday weekend on this short notice, that can do it for the remarkably low price you gave us 6 months ago.
Wait, I take full responsibility for adjusting my budget to the quoted price, and moving the rest elsewhere, but it still SUCKS.

Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
  • Speaking of grammar related things.  I hate when I hear someone say "I could care less about...." when really then mean "I couldn't care less about..."  That drives me bonkers.

I also hate driving on the expressway when there are 2 cars going identical speeds right next to each other and I cannot pass.  I have a lead foot.  Please be courteous.

  • I hate when cars pull out in front of me and then drive below the speed limit.

I hate it when people tailgate you, pass you, then go ungodly slowly when I was already going 10 over the speed limit.

I hate waiting for things to happen. I'm a "take control and get it done" type of girl.

I hate when people say "acrosst" instead of "across".  There's no T in across.

The worst is my dad, because he willy nilly uses both of them.  It makes my eye twitch.

  • fustrated instead of FRustrated drives me absolutely crazy!  Or Dint instead of DiDn't.

And to make fun of myself.  Metro Detroiters call a sliding glass door a "doorwall."  Why?  I have absolutely no idea.  We just do...even our window places advertise for doorwalls.  It drives my DH bat shyt.  He flips out every time I say it and corrects me in front of my 6 y/o SD so she doesn't say it too.  LOL

fustrated...really?  Never heard of that one, thanks goodness too, b/c I don't know what I'd do...I feel like I'm the grammar police at least 10 times a day-in order to keep myself sane, I just mutter the correct wording under my breath.

Also I'm so sick and tired of hearing people say "I don't got nothing"...

I seriously just LOLed too reading about "doorwalls" :)

I cannot say Massachusetts to save my life. It's frustrating.
  • I just heard the fustrated thing for the first time the other day talking to H's brother's fiancee about her wedding dress alterations.  I wanted to correct her, but thought it'd be mean.

In some countries in Europe this is against the law; the left lane is for passing, the right lane is for driving, if you are going faster than traffic, even if you're speeding, you still use the right lane except when going around someone.  In this country it's our "right" to drive however stupidly we want to even if it's in the left lane with the turn signal stuck on and 20 under the speed limit.

SO agreed!  It drives me even more nuts when people say, "I think I did pretty good on my test" or "the meeting went good".

GOOD is an Adjective-it describes a NOUN such as "he is a good <strong>dog (noun)</strong>"
WELL is an Adverb-It describes a Verb such as in how someone is <strong>doing (verb)

  • and Scoetto you're totally right, there are so many bigger things in the world to worry about than someone's grammar or pronounciation....maybe it's the teacher in me...it's just one of those pet peeves that totally makes me want to pull my hair out!
