Re: The real poll

  • Mine was originally $350, but then it had be discontinued so the bridal shop took another $100 off, so $250 adnd I'm getting alterations done next week!
  • the only dress i found was a couture Paula Varsalona which ended up costing with tax $6000... havent had alterations yet. But i LOVE it!

  • Mine cost $5000, which I know is a lot. It was my dream Jim Hjelm dress! I know it's a lot, but I work really hard and feel like I deserve it! I paid for it all by myself too!
  • I walked in explained what I wanted and she pulled out 6 dresses. I had no budget. I told her I knew the one I tried on was my dress. No questions asked. I asked her if she had a payment plan bc the dress was a 1000 dollar mori lee gown and she looked at me like I was dumb then said why would you need to do that its only 150. I freaked out called my mom and dad. Then bc she was so happy at how excited I was that she gave it to me for 99 so it came out to 104.96 woo woo. I was so so happy and it fits almost perfect but to soon for any allttering needs to be done.
  • Mine cost $545 on sale from $840.  My friend had her alterations done at the same shop and only cost her $80. So as long as the only have to shorten the dress (and fix all the beading and tule, they said they'd do for free) my alterations should only cost $80!

  • My budget for the dress was $600, the dress was $497 including tax.  Alterations came to about $150, so I went slightly over.  Hat was $35, shoes were $30, earrings were $10.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • My dress, tiara, veil and undergarments were right around $1,000.  The dress itself was $700.  I still haven't found cute shoes, though.

  • Mine was 1600 which included the dress and veil and 30 dollars in alterations.  I know it's a lot, but what the hell I'll only do it once.  I was frugal in every other area.

  • My dress was $725 (marked down 55% in a close out sale) and I spent $325 for alterations - Grand Total $1050 (My budget was $1000)
  • Mine was $590 and the veil was $60.  Got it for 30% off since I bought it off the rack.  It is also the perfect size!  No alterations needed....unless I keep losing weight.  l

  • The dress itself was under $800 but alterations, veil and the long line bra added another $500 or so.  Still,  I loved it and it was worth it.

I still want to meet someone that buys one of the $10,000 Pnina dresses on Say Yes To The Dress!
  • My Dress was $360.  My bridal shop either gives 20% off or free alterations - I went with the free alterations!!!

    Yeah budget brides!!
  • My dress is a Maggie Sotero. It cost $760, without alterations. It fits me perfectly so all I need to do is the hem. WOOOHOO!!
  • Dress = $250
    Slip and corset = $125

Haven't had it altered yet. Ironically the dress I loved the most turned out to be the ceapest. Go me, lol.
