Stuff mysteriously appearing on my registry?

I'm sure this has come up before, but I was on my Crate and Barrel registry the other day and noticed that there were some items that I didn't put on there -  a halloween table runner and 8 clear highball glasses. There were "fulfilled" items too. I know that I didn't put them on there, and the fact that it says "wants: 0 has:8" (in the case of the glasses)  next to it makes me think that either they got put on there accidentally or someone bought them for me even tough I didn't register for them and told the cashier that it was for my wedding?? I don't know.

anyone else have this happen?

  • Either someone bought it for you and asked to have it added to your registry (not sure if C&B does that but I do know Macys and BBB will) or the person purchased things from your registry at the same time as purchasing things for themselves and the cashier accidentily kept your registry number scanned while ringing up all of the purchases. This happened to a woman on this board at BBB and a random chocolate bar and some toilet bowl cleaner showed up as purchased on her registry until she removed them.

Yep, we ended up with lollipops and all kinds of other random items on our BB&B registry. You can delete them if you want.

  • Exactly as PP said.  Someone bought us something at C&B that we didn't register for,  but mentioned our registry, it showed up online that way.

  • Yeah we had that too.  If they are buying things for themselves when they are buying off your registry, they will also appear on the list.

  • A few years ago I worked at BB&B and it was made clear to the cashiers then to EXIT from the gift registry purchase by pressing a certain key after scanning all gift registry items.  That prevents items from showing up on the bride's registry as fulfilled, when the customer is making a personal purchase.

It seems that cashiers must have forgotten the cardinal rules of scanning items for registry purchases... oh well.
