9. How did you and your fiance meet? We met through mutual friends in 2006 and were both dating someone else. We started talking again in 2008 and it developed from there

10. When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? April 4, 2011. That morning we were chatting on the phone and discussing our relationship; the ups, downs, in-betweens and what not. That evening when I came home, he was cooking dinner and we continued the conversation. Somewhere in the middle of that he asked me to stand, dropped to one knee and proposed. It was very simple and matter-of-fact, similar to our courtship.

12. Where is the ceremony and reception? The Shaw Center terrace, Baton Rouge, LA

13. What are your wedding colors? Espresso and Blue Jay

14. Where are you honeymooning? I have no idea. I'm not sure we will be able to swing it.

15. Favorite wedding vendor so far? Hmmm I guess that would have to be my photographer. She is an acquaintance of mine that just started her business this year. I always like to support my friends and so I decided to give her a shot for my e-photos. I wasn't too particular on photos anyway but she gave me a stupid (excuse my southern slang

), awesome, ridiculous deal for e-photos and wedding coverage and so far she has been awesome. She made me enjoy photos again!

16. Biggest wedding splurge? I'm not done spending yet but so far I guess it would be the hotel for the night before and night of. 2 nights in a suite...totally uncalled for

17. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't? Live music. It was one of my must haves, but that budget only stretches so far

18. Another knottie wedding you'd like to attend? Probably Cat and I remember wanting to attend Hatroopes (oh I know I jacked that up, sorry) but everyone is so created, I'd attend them all

19. Favorite book? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

20. Favorite movie? Steel Magnolias and Forrest Gump

21. Favorite tv show? I don't do a lot of TV but anytime the original V series comes on, my butt is parked!

22. Favorite wedding dress designer? Vera Wang

23. Any advice you can give? Stay true to who you are and have the wedding that fits you and your FI. As the quote says, "Those who matter won't mind and those who mind don't matter"

24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding? HA! The date, location and a little bit of the party. Such is life.

25. Share something about yourself!! I am a closet writer. I would love nothing more than to wake up everyday and write. I'm getting there I think. Oh, I love people. They are our companions in life and if we don't learn to love and walk with them, this journey will always seem "less than". Sometimes I forget that. So if I never get a chance to say it to you all individually, I love you ladies and I wish nothing but the best for you and your families.

I love your advice. I think sometimes, we get sooo many suggestions/requests/demands from all angels that we forget that simple fact.

Did you watch the V series that abruptly ended last year that had Morris Chestnut in it? Me and FI were hooked and then they cancelled without warning!

Are you going to have an armadillo grooms cake like on Steel Magnolias? LOL

I've seen pics of New Orleans weddings with those umbrellas and masks, do they do that in Baton Rouge also?

that is one of my favorite books. ----I read it from time to time to get "centered" again if you will. I love all his books actually. If you haven't yet, read Aleph.

Do the 2 of you have kids? if not how many do you want? He has two children and want more! I want three kids and yes we plan to start immediately after the wedding. We went through a miscarriage last year and I think we are just itching to try for real

what do you write? Well I suppose you would call it self-help stuff, but I wouldn't. What happens is I think about things in my life and have these conversations with myself. If I'm feeling froggy, I'll dabble in poetry.

Is your dress Vera Wang? i LOVE her dresses. No. I wish I had realized she was my favorite before I purchased my dress. I was so against DB due to some brides I knew who had bad experiences that I didn't really give it a chance and missed out on my Vera dress.

Well we intially planned to go to Africa because he former job had a site there and they invited us. I would LOVE to go (That was my first choice location on my Peace corp application) But Jamaica would probably be my second choice. Of course, I could go back to Vegas anytime.

Did you watch the V series that abruptly ended last year that had Morris Chestnut in it? Me and FI were hooked and then they cancelled without warning! --Sure did! I was so mad because something went screwy with my DVR and I lost all my recorded shows and lost the last two episodes. THANK GOD for netflix.

LOL I thought about it, but FI would soooo not appreciate that

I've seen pics of New Orleans weddings with those umbrellas and masks, do they do that in Baton Rouge also? Yeah they do. Most all weddings (and any other event, including "club" nights lol) finish with a second line so that is where the umbrellas and hankys pop out.

What are you most looking forward to in married life? Other than THAT. LOL

LOL I think I am most looking forward to that sense of stability and extra comfort that comes along with being able to commit to such a life changing decision. I have recently come to the realization that completion = momentum so completing this phase of life will push me and my husband on a new path. I'm looking forward to that.
