Wedding Woes

weekend recap?

did everyone have a nice weekend?

Friday was my every-other-Friday-off, but since it was a holiday for us, I took Thursday off too.

Thursday: Went to the movies (saw "Your Highness" - stupid/raunchy humor - hilarious), got a make-your-own ice cream sandwich (got to pick the type of cookies and ice cream - it was fantastic), and went to a moms' night out cooking class (cost: $10 which included wine and tastings) and to a local bar afterwards.

Friday: We had planned to go to the movies since DK had the day off, but found out on Thurs that daycare was closed. I stayed home in the am with Wolverine while DK went to the DMV to get his TX license. We went swimming in the pool and got Wolverine's EB pics done.

Saturday: watched the Pens embarass themselves, and helped DK trim back soem of the trees. spent time in the pool and went shopping/out to dinner.

Sunday: DK took Wolverine to church, i stayed home and cooked - made pasta salad, cranberry sauce, guacamole, ham, green beans, potatoes, rolls. took lots of pics of Wolverine and skyped with my family.

the inlaws were in town.  now that we have baby mo, parent visits are less stressful -- we don't have to worry about offering options for things to do or anything like that.  they're not here to see the city, and they're certainly not here to see us.

dh is out of town, interviewing.  purple vibes for him?

Pretty slow. I had a great Easter, and did some shopping on Sat.

H, I hope it is in the great state of Tx. I will eat a purple Jolly Rancher in his honor.

Thursday, I went home to a broken a/c.  stbx came over to give me a verdict, but told me he couldn't get a part til next week.  I had already contacted the leasing co. to have maintenance come out on Friday.

Friday, DD went to school, I picked up some free bar stools, and then I waited for the a/c repair guy.  What a great way to spend a paid holiday off.  He told me things could not be fixed until Monday.  Joy of joys.  We did go to the pool after I picked DD up from school, to avoid sitting in the hellhouse.  Then we went to pick up Cousin at the airport. I was up til 3am chatting with her.  She is one of my favorite people.

Saturday, DD was up at 6am so we did the whole easter basket thing to keep her quiet in my bedroom while Cousin slept on the couch.  Took Cousin and DD to brunch, then to Target, then dropped off Cousin at airport.  Went home and decided it was too ridic. hot to stay home, so we went to stbx's house.  He ran errands and we sucked up the cool air.  stbx gave DD some bad milk, so we had exorcist baby on our hands all night.  Poor punkin.  stbx cooked dinner, we put DD to bed and I went back home with a load of vomit laundry.

Sunday, I watched a lot of Grey's Anatomy dvds, did a shitton of laundry, reorganized my bakeware, tupperware and other misc. things around the condo.  I didn't want to over exert myself too much since there was no a/c, so I also did a fair amount of lounging.  stbx dropped off DD after dinner and we did our normal night time routine.

Today, I got to work early, so I've been busting my tail.  We're short staffed this week, so I'm covering a lot of bases.  stbx is going to pick up DD and keep her tonight so that I can work late and pack.

Weds. night or Thurs. a.m., we leave for hometown.  Can't wait!!!!

    ~*~*~Purple Vibes~*~*~

Weekend was good. On Friday, mom and I had lunch at Neiman Marcus and gallavanted around a bit before going to get DH at the airport. We picked up pizza and salad on the way home, and had an early night.

Saturday was yoga, and breakfast with mom, H and baby A. DH watched the baby in the afternoon while mom and I shopped. Then mom and I came home and DH went out to a late dinner with a nerd club friend.

Yesterday was the gym, then Mom and I went to church. Services were outside, and the weather was gorgeous. We were late, so we sat in the breezeway, and after the mass, we people watched for a good while before heading home. Mom made waffles, and then we took some family photos with baby A before his nap. We went out for a casual dinner, and that was it for Easter.

    sending Vibes for Mr. Monkey.

Saturday was a wash. We went to our storage unit and reorganized some stuff and then vegged at home. 11:53pm Saturday to midnight Sunday. Yes. 24 straight hours. She catnapped. I did not.

Sunday was GORGEOUS so we went into the the City and went to the flea markets. Wandered Union Sq and headed to Chinatown for dinner with friends where we got caught in a downpour. Sunday all in all was a win.

Buffy went on a 3 day sleep strike and now has TWO teeth.

I worked on my day off on Friday.

Sat I made cinnamon quickbread for Sunday's church breakfest then spent much of Sat w/ the ILs.  They're handling things OK, IMO.

Sunday, went to chruch breakfast and church.  Then met my folks and drove to bigsis's house an hour+ away.
Got into the car and Buffy started wailing.  I fed her and comforted her as much as possible while in the back seat next to her and finally made dad stop so I could nurse her and put her back.  She promptly started wailing again.  That made the migraine start...she fell asleep *just* as we got to sis's neighborhood.

Babysis had surprise flown up to visit and we had easter dinner...of pizza.
Then we got the parents to hide eggs and watch Buffy and we had the traditional egg hunt...complete w/ nearly pushing e/o down a lfight of stairs and the Mr. getting a purple nurple-bruse from baby-sis as they fought over an egg.
(our egg hunts are full contact.  There were relatively FEW bruises this year)

And then I went home (Buffy slept on the drive home, TYVM) and put buffy down and she cried all night.

    ::vibes for Mr Mo::

Saturday was running, breakfast, helping H with his car, baking, dinner with h's sisters.

Sunday was more baking, breakfast at gmil's house, more baking at home, dinner @ my parent's house, then home, bed.

I was exhausted this morning but hauled myself out of bed to kick some ace.

    Ours was pretty good

Friday I was getting pi$$y about the snail's pace for this job transfer I'm looking to do.  Feeling a little deflated, so DH took me to drown my sorrows in Pei Wei and ice cream.  I did look up some local mommy groups and found one that I may meet up with next week.  It's one of the few active ones that don't always have to meet at 11am (translation, a SAHM group) or dripping with WASPish Lilly Pulitzer and full time nannies that are not nannyshared.  It looks to be fun!  I'll find out soon enough.

Saturday was grocery shopping and Earth Day festival.  Took DD, she did about as well as to be expected with the heat. Picked up a tree to plant and an awful lot of paper.  Nice thing, though.  I hate nursing in public but DD was hooooongry. One of the local natural birth groups set up a tent there for nursing moms.  It was shaded, had all sorts of pillows and gauzy curtains, a nice changing table and some semblance of privacy.  Even had a MW handing out bottled water to all "her breastfeeding mamas".  DH got a little ego stroking because the MW's and doulas at the booth outside the nursing tent were falling all over the Ergo he was wearing.

Sunday, went to early AM service, DD in her little Easter dress.  Had breakfast at the chruch, went home, showed DD her Easter basket full of way too much stuff for a nearly 3 month old, but we took lots of pics. to take a nap, we woke up to a tornado siren (again).  Parents of the year we are, sleeping through potential tornado activity ;).  Took a nice long drive thinking about areas to move when that time comes, made a slapdash ham dinner.

No pics with the Easter plushie were had.

SIL and her girls got into town on Thursday night and it was non-stop from there.

Friday, we just hung out.  BIL and (other) SIL got into town and SIL's best friend came over for dinner.  After dinner, SIL took the kids (besides DefConn) and left.  Other SIL went to see her mom and then went to my IL's because their dogs were there.  It was just BIL, DH, DefConn, and me.

Saturday, SIL had a b-day party for my nieces.  We were over at the IL's all day. (My IL's are in FL)

Yesterday, we went to my sister's house for Easter.  SIL, my nieces, BIL, and other SIL all went over there too and celebrated with my family.  We got home and  just relaxed.

Last night was rough as DefConn was completely over stimulated from the weekend and cranky.  He still kind of is today.  Luckily, we have nowhere to be.

Friday night I got roped into going to the IL's (DH commited us without checking with me.) because we "wouldn't" come for Easter. Easter was out anniversary...and I'd rather die than spend that with my IL's. Then we got in a huge religious debate because "we're blind for not being Christian", and when I said that was their truth and not mine, FIL flipped his lid and got so rude (which is really encouraging when you're trying to convert someone, f*cking idiot anyways), and I left. I'm so very very done with them, but my H doesn't get it.

Saturday we drove down to Santa Cruz and spent the day on the beach, and that was fun.

Sunday we vegged around, I set up my new vanity area (makeup desk? I don't know what to call it), and then went to see Water for Elephants (which I loved and highly recommend). And then we ate lots of ice cream and now I'm at work.

One of my good friends came to visit from out of town.   We went out Friday night and had some of the best sushi either of us had ever had - - if  you've never had sweet potato in your sushi you MUST give it a try.   I'm not even a big fan of sweet potatoes.  We also had awesome Pomegranate Martinis.
Followed that up with some dessert at a pub.   We had their whiskey bread pudding which was possibly better than sex and certainly less messy.
Saturday morning we got up, I fixed a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage for all of us, and Friend and I went shopping.  Had such a nice relaxing day.   I haven't been on a shopping trip like that in a looooonnnnnggg time.   Had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants and had another great meal.   Bought too much stuff at Crate & Barrel, searched hi & lo for white tights for DD's easter outfit (finally found them after 6 stores).   Had a great time.
Friend went home Saturday night, DH and I watched some DVR'd stuff.  We are still so behind on all of our shows.   We want to upgrade to a new multi-room DVR, but we're trying to watch all our stuff first.   I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Sunday, DD and I went to church.   She was good and super cute in her dress I made for her.   THen we went home and took naps.   Went to my mom's for dinner in the late afternoon.    We all over-ate and laid around afterward watching the kids go nuts on their sugar highs (except for my kid because she's an angel.)
Got home last night just in time to put DD to bed and watch Game of Thrones.   Which, by the way, was a much better episode than last week's and I think I'll keep watching it.

Got up this morning to an awful sore throat and DD has no voice and a bad cough.  I have my annual GYN appt today.   Sucky day.
