Anyone do (or planning to do) fun/creative e-pics?

Our e-pics are rapidly approaching & while I'm nervous (was hoping to have dropped a few lbs by then, but well, it hasn't happened), I'm also excited.

We have 3 1/2 hours with our photographer.

Obviously we're going to do the majority as nice pictures. But we have a few things that we were planning on doing - and thankfully our photographer is totally up for it!

First we're staging a wizards duel. I've been wanting to do one of these for so long, especially with FI lol That will totally make my day.

Then we were going to bring our bikes and get a few shots on them since that is a big hobby of his.

These probably won't go on the STDs or anything, but I think it'd be fun to have and look back on (in the mix of some nice ones).


I was thinking about making some cupcakes and putting our wedding date on them (each cupcake has a number on it). I figured if we could do that, we could put that on the STD instead of typing out the date onto the STD. Thankfully FI is totally on board with this and suggested that we have an extra cupcake with a bite taken out of it lol (not sure about that!).

I emailed our photographer about this to see what she thinks - plus it's totally dependant on me being able to do a nice enough job on them to make them picture worthy (to go on a STD).


Did anyone else do anything fun or goofy with their e-pics or did you just do all nice ones?

    we are doing several sessions. Our first is this weekend. It will be done in either 2 or 3 sessions, but it's 3-4 concepts minimum. All very "themed". I'm super excited, but keeping mum about the styles for now :)

    We went to a museum for the Ringling Brothers Circus- so we had fun playing in the funhouse mirrors, using the bright colors from the tents and displays, and even used the animal cage circus wagon :)
    Still waiting to see them, but we had a blast!

    I had t-shirts made that said "Save the" and "05" on one and "Date" and "04" on the other. We also wore our NJ Devils jerseys (we're season ticket holders & huge fans) for a few pictures. And we wore football jerseys (me in a Philadelphia Eagles one, him in a Miami Dolphins one) for a few.

    I tried doing one where we were zombies, because we were at a zombie run a few months ago.  I learned at that time that FI and I are really really bad at posed pictures.  I ended up deciding on having a "real' shoot with our photographer...originally I wasn't planning on doing real e-pics at all.  We are probably going to just hang out at a cute town near us for a few hours with her.  There is a river that goes through the town, so I can break out my canoe and get some pics in that, and alot of the buildings are really pretty/old school.  After that first time, we are going to try for non-posed and us just having a fun day!

    We didn't have a professional do our pics. We have a family member (with a good camera and talent) do our E-pics. They turned out really nice. He's actually going to do more for us soon. For the wedding we will hire a professional.

    Aw! Everyone's ideas sound a lot of fun!

    I hope everyone posts some! I'm really interested to see how everyone incorporates their fun pictures/themed pictures.

    Carson, we were going to ask FSIL, but I feel like I'd feel much less awkward in front of a total stranger than FSIL, which is odd for me. I guess for me, a professional isn't going to poke fun or mock if we have any kissing pictures lol Sometimes FSIL is brutal! That sounds great that you had a family member to do it! If I weren't so awkward, we definitely would have!

    We had our pictures taken at the college where we met. We did the standard romantic/cutesy pictures, but then we jumped into the fountain in the center of campus and she took pictures of us dancing around in the fountain, which was so much fun! We also snuck into a classroom and wrote "Save the Date 5/26/13" and posed next to it, which ended up being really cute. For our STDs, we used a picture of us in front of the chalkboard with a plus sign between us and then "=" and a big heart. We've gotten so many compliments on it!
