Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invitation wording for divorced and remarried groom's parents - ideas?

My parents are together and paying for 25% of the wedding and they want their names on the invitation.
Groom and I are paying for the rest like photography, flowers, etc. Now here's the tricky part...
His parents are divorced, mom remarried, and his step dad help raise him for the last 20 years. Groom's mom and step dad are paying about 20% of wedding. Groom's dad, not sure if he's paying yet, he says he'll give 2K but now in hospital, so who know's at this point. Groom and Groom's mom want Groom's dad on the invitation. How do I word this for a formal wedding?
Your ideas please.

  • You could always have
    Together with their parents.
      your name
    and
      FI name
    .....
  • DH and I both have divorced parents and three of the four remarried, so we just did "together with their parents".  It worked out for the best, since my dad and stepmom separated shortly after invitations went out...
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • The OP said that her parents want their name on the invitation though.  Even though "together with their parents" would make thing much more simple, this may not be an option.

Generally, whoever is "requesting the pleasure of your company" are the hosts.  If the groom's family is also hosting, their names belong at the top of the invitation also.

  • KarensMOH is right.  The bride's parents host, and if you need to put the groom's parents' names on the invitation, those names follow the groom's name.

There is a complete difference in HOSTING and PAYING.  Sure, the groom's mom and step dad are PAYING 20% and the groom's father might pay some too.  But that's not HOSTING.
