Shoutouts

Stella - I was really not trying to be rude. I actually thought later I should have explained that better to Jenna because too much was going on at the time to take it up right then.

I just honestly think that being afraid to participate is stupid. Not in the, "I hate you, I judge you way" but in the "come on we are all friends and love you Jenna" way. I wish Jenna knew that even if she hated 99% of the people I liked, or vice versa, we are a pretty accepting bunch here, you know?

Stella, I 100% agree with that. It seemed so out of place and just left me feeling sorry for Jenna. She didn't do anything wrong.

I know it's a joke, but every time aprov says "ricks sisterwife!!!1!" I have to roll my eyes. We get it. Aprov loves Ricks.

I want to talk art history with Sarah but I'm 99% sure she is smarter than me.

I've realized I almost always agree with East.

I don't know her screen name, but the girl who was going off about how "bitch [she's] an artist!" rubbed me the wrong way last night. That's cool you're educated and all, but there are plenty of successful artists who aren't traditionally educated. Art is so fluid I think it's pretty pretentious to judge somebody else as phony just because you don't like what they are doing, you know?

I've never gotten a bitch vibe from betrothed.

I wish Celles came around more.

If marriedfilingjointly is who I am assuming she is, the whole situation is kind of... odd? And not very low key.

I think that was me. I was referring to my feelings on Lady Gaga though. It had nothing to do with "education" or anything like that. I've seen interviews with her and she just appears phony to me. Is she a marketing genius? Sure. Could what she does be considered and art form? Sure. But I was only speaking for myself. I wasn't trying to say I'm more of an artist than anyone else. I just don't particularly like her and when I watch her in interviews she talks about her "craft" and everything as if she wasn't just a random looking brunette girl from NY who went on an MTV prank show. Suddenly, she throws in a crazy costume, wears a wig and causes Madonna-like controversy and now she wants to be an "artist"? Why wasn't playing small clubs and singing as a brunette from NY, her art?? I don't know...but that's why it seems phony to me. She's not a person who genuinely enjoys what she does unless she's making millions of dollars and hearinf her name constantly, IMO.

ETA: I'm glad you brought this up though because I didn't mean for it to come off as snotty regarding different forms of art in general. I just don't like her and I don't consider what she does to be "art" per se.

Have you read anything about Lady Gaga?? She's studied classical piano from a young age, has trained with various vocal teachers (amazing ones in fact), writes her own music and lyrics. I'd say she has amazing skills and definitely is an artist.

I didn't know about the vocal teachers. I guess if you're asking if she's an artist, by the broad definition, the answer would be yes. If you're asking whether I consider her to be one, then the answer is no.
