To dye or not to dye

So, I bought these dyeable shoes for my wedding.


My original plan was to dye them burgundy and add some beading or lace.  Now I'm not sure if the burgundy shoe will be too much of a contast against my white lace dress (my bm dresses will be burgundy, so maybe that will alleviate the issue?).  My other wedding colors are grey and marigold yellow.  So now I'm torn with dyeing them one of those colors or not dying at all.

    Mine are being made the color of my dress, champagne. Are they shoes you'd want to wear again sometime? That is something to take into consideration.

    Follow your gut! If your heart is set on a burgandy shoe have your burgandy shoe.

    I'm doing white shoes to match my dress and had to get them special ordered because there are so many versions of "white" and "diamond white" that don't match my dress at all. Personally I would rather have a shoe that completely didn't match my dress (like a champagne, blue, or gold) than one that was close to the color of my dress but not quite (Ivory & white, Bright white & white)

    I'm in the same situation. I bought a pair of shoes when I bought my dress, and they can be dyed.  My bridesmaids are wearing Tiffany blue, so I was thinking a Tiffany blue shoe could be pretty, but I don't want to detract from the look of my dress, or be bothered with getting theym dyed.

    Either way, I will probably never wear the shoes again.  I have no idea if the color they are now 100% matches my dress, even though I tried the two on together. I liked the heel height, the decoration (I don't fully remember and don't have a picture, but there is some type of ornament on mine...I think) and the price, so I bought them on the spot.  

    How long does it take to have shoes dyed? (As in, can I make this decision months from now?) Where would I go to get this done? Approximately how much does it cost? $15? $100?

    I think burgundy is a bit dark with a white dress, but I like that it matches what the bridesmaids will be wearing (like how I'm thinking Tiffany blue.)

    You can get them dyed at some shoe repair stores, but I did receive a flyer for an online company that charged $17.50 to dye that, includes return shipping, but you have to pay additional to ship them to the company.  My fear is that once they are dyed, that's it, if I don't like them, I need to find new shoes.  Ugh decisions lol!

    The bridal shop I got my dress at does it for $9 and can get it done a month before the wedding. I spent a good amount of money on mine so I didn't want to get a color I would never wear again after the wedding. The color I am getting, I can wear the shoes with other dresses after.

    That's partially why I started to second guess the color (though I wear a lot of burgundy) and considered dyeing them grey.  I just don't know if I can grey shoes and a white dress....  I'm getting FI burgundy socks and having our initials and date embroidered in the marigold yellow, I wanted a cute photo of just out legs/feet, with him holding his pant legs up and me holding the bottom of my dress, since his socks will most likely be burgundy, maybe I should go with the marigold, it won't be as stark of a contrast against the white...

    I'm actually considering running shoes.

    Just remember do what you like most people will never see your shoes.

    I feel the need for a pop of color.  Originally planned to dye my crinoline, but ended up choosing a dress that's uber poofy on it's own, so no need for crinoline. 

    I'm one of those DIY, put my own stamp on things, kind of girl.  Not that dyed shoes is a new idea or anything, but it's another opportunity to put my stamp on the wedding.

    I'm having the same dilemma. I've seen pictures of women that have dyed their shoes to match a color in their wedding and I think it looks amazing and fun! If your dress is long they will hardly be seen anyways. But as Stina said once they are dyed they will be hard to wear after.. I haven't convinced my mom it will look good yet. It's your day, so I'd do as you want! I really want mine dyed, and the place I got my gown charges around $5.

    I purchased navy blue shoes BM dress color. But it also works as my 'something blue'. I will get more use out of those heels than white ones too!
