I just received a gift from a friend who will be attending the wedding, which is almost two months away. I know that if she were not attending I would send the thank you note right away, but is it the same if she is attending, or should I wait until after the wedding? And if I do send her a thank you note now, do I send her another one after the wedding to thank her for coming?

    Send the Thank You now. 1) She'll know for sure that you got the gift, and 2) That's one less card you'll have to write after the wedding.

    You don't have to send a card JUST to thank people for attending. That's what the "thank you" note in your program is for. :)

    Send the thank you now.  Open the gift, make sure nothing is broken and then don't use until after the wedding.

    There is mixed thoughts on sending TYs for just attending the wedding.  I'm in the "the reception is the TY and you thanked them inperson at the reception" camp.

    Send a thank you card now so she isn't left wondering if the gift made it to you or not.
    You'll see her at the reception and will talk w/ her at some point even if its just during either the receiving line or when you go to each table and great people.  Say thank you for coming then.

    Its my opinion that just sending a thank you card for coming is a waste of postage and your time when you're going to be sending out a bunch of thank you cards for gifts...she'll aready have her thank you card for a gift.
