More on this forgiveable or not stuff

TK polls aren't sophisticated enough.  But, I built a survey to rank the stuff everybody mentioned in the earlier threads.  Give it a whirl.  Results are public, but only in aggregate.  Comments here, please.  :D

  • The zoomerang thing is really easy. It took me about 5 minutes to put together, I think.

The climate thing was about the humidity items that Alexia and Jess and Opal mentioned AND the crazy chick last November who wanted an outdoor wedding at night in the mountains where it would be 40 degrees.  Um, no.

Since I'm a total fiend for statistics, I calculated (quick math, might be a bit off since I did most of the multiplication in my head) an average offensiveness for each etiquette "sin." (edit to add: there were 55 respondents when I took the survey, so the results might be a little different now)

    Cash bars: 5.49 "average offensiveness"
    Partial cash bars: 3.81
    Limited bar: 4.36
    Not enough food: 8.21
    Not enough chairs: 8.02
    Tiered reception: 8.73
    Multiple weddings: 7.31
    Registry info in invites: 5.96
    Honeymoon registry: 5.55
    Not inviting kids: 3.76
    Gaps: 5.13
    Failure to send a thank-you note: 8.00
    Preprinted thank-you notes: 7.00
    Starting the wedding late: 5.76
Special treatment for families or WP: 5.63
Lack of AC or heat: 7.45
    Gift entitlement: 7.72
    No vegetarian option: 5.5
    No meat option: 4.75
Separating WP from their dates: 6.38
Invited to pre-wedding parties but not the wedding: 7.44
    Jack & Jills/Fundraisers: 7.95
    Dollar dances: 6.00
    Open seating: 4.29

So a tiered reception, with not enough food (maybe that's why they had a tiered reception? haha), that you didn't get a thank-you card for when it was over would officially be the tackiest wedding ever ;)

  • Nice work, Squirrely!

I guess I'm the lone "It's okay to start late" vote.  I'm West Indian, we don't really do things on time.  Of course, I'm talking like 15 min., maybe 30 min.  Longer than that is too much.
  • That was fun!  I agree with whoever said they cant believe you are putting this kind of thing together with less than 2 weeks to your wedding!  Are you super woman????

Bahahaha. . . nope, it was really easy.  Promise.  And a good distraction while sitting at my desk getting nothing accomplished.

  • I'm wondering who said they prefer gift entitlement.

  • That was cool, Squirrly.  Thanks for doing that!

Only downside:  now I'm super-paranoid about food running out and the AC dying at our venue.  I think we have everything else covered, although msmerymac may not like our drink selection. ;-)
