No. Convinced my Pastor to reconsider his position. It's amazing how someone reacts when you stand up for yourself. And mean it.

It does sound like someone trolling for article fodder (and my journalist sensibilities are crying at the thought). However, I do think there is a societal expectation (in the US, at least) for men to spend a certain amount of money on a ring to "prove" something. I know H thought he had to get me a diamond and spend like $5,000. And there are some girls who would be offended at less than that. I think it's all manipulation by the jewelry (and specifically diamond) industry.

[QUOTE]If it's not Tacori and 2+ carats, it doesn't count. Also, if he doesn't figure out a way for us to have 500 of our closest friends and relatives get married in Westminster Abbey and have the reception at the palace, I won't say yes.

If this happens, I want an invite hand delivered by a man in a powdered wig on a white horse lol.

Oh and that ring is drool worthy.

Their pastor basically told them that they had to get married secretly or lose their jobs at the church. He said they could marry and just they and the pastor would know and then they could have their PPD later in the year. It was weird.
