Tuesday Chit Chat

I'm still on vacation and have accomplished so much! I designed and ordered save the dates, diesgned our invitations [all the talk on the board motivated me], I have three dress appointments tomorrow, and we registered. I'm obsessed with looking and refining the registry. Imagine how I'll be as my shower and wedding gets closer.

How's everyone? Back at work? Wedding planning updates?

Today has been my last day of vacation, although unlike you, I have been super lazy and basically just relaxed for the past week and a half. Wish I had gotten more done, but at the same time I am definitely feeling refreshed and ready to get back into the swing of things!

Today was my first day back at work. I am awaiting the materials to make the next four bouquets. I am also , waiting to hear back from my travel agent about shipping my bouquets.

On another note, I am searching for my wedding shoes.

Today was my first real day back. It was so hard to get out of bed this morning.

For the wedding we got the rehearsal dinner taken care of, finished up the wording on the invites and we will be ordering them at the end of the week.

I went back to work after a 3 day weekend. This weekend, I finalized our wording, decided on a DJ (will be signing the contract after work on Thursday), bought my headband and veil, worked on our cake topper and card box. I have been looking for shoes, but can not seem to find any that I like..

I am still on break from school, but I am working full time for the next couple of weeks to make extra money for the Wedding. I am having a really hard time getting motivated to check anything off my wedding to do list.

I go back to work Thursday and the kids come back on Friday. I got a few WR things done over break since FI was home from school, but not much. We went to look at rings and FI picked his and we picked out tuxes, although I have to go back to the shop to make a couple of changes FI and I decided on. Tomorrow I HAVE to go decide on a BM dress. Seriously, have to, haha. I don't want it looming over my head anymore. I'm also tweaking our invitation design today/tonight. Thursday I'm bringing my engagement picture CD to work to copy them to a jump drive (don't have a CD drive on my Macbook Air) so I can swap out the ones I currently have on our STDs with the high res ones so I can order those. So much WR stuff to do--it's crazy!

NWR, not much is going on, haha, just being lazy before I have to go back to work and missing FI who left yesterday to go back to school. Although, I am excited because this was the last time he had to leave to go back to school--he'll be back in the States in late May/early June for good!

My day was boring. I was supposed to have PT at 1:40 but they didn't schedule my appt right. I'm ok with that though because I hate going haha. We spent like 2 hours on campus trying to get all of FI's tuition stuff figured out from the govt/Army. Then we got some textbooks boo

Do you pay for your textbooks? At my now Ala Mater we would rent the textbooks. It saved us a lot of money.

I wish my college would have allowed renting textbooks. However, by my junior and senior year I would wait until classes started and see if I was actually going to need the textbook. If I decided I did, I would order from half.com. I would save so much money. My last semester I think I paid under $200 for books that probably would have cost over $400 from the bookstore, even if I bought used. Ugh, I hated paying for textbooks.

There are some you can rent it depends on what they want to do rentals for. All the rentals for our classes were gone if offered. Before I go textbook shopping, I print off my complete list and get prices from the bookstore, half.com, and amazon then get the cheapest

Are you inviting guests outside of immediate family, wedding party and significant others? I did a bare bones RD guest list and it looks, well, really bare bones, but I don't want cost to get out of control.

We're just doing people involved in the wedding and their family (like RB, FG, etc) We chose an intimate room that holds 40 people so that's why we did just people involved

(I begin student teaching in a few weeks) I canceled my original invitation order because I was really unhappy with them, but now I've found some that I really like. We started our registry and after looking at it I realized that we need to go back and add more things to it. And I bought thank-you cards for my shower with isn't for another 4 months. I think I'm just a tad excited!

I'm getting irritated with my bridesmaids about my shower. I've given them the guest list for both showers and nothing. I wish I knew when they were scheduled and where. I don't know how to address the subject anymore with them. I asked one of them yesterday if she got the guest list I emailed her and she said no so I re-emailed it. I just wanna get it nailed down. :(

We've done our registry, received the last of our ties, and ordered part of the groomsman gifts the day after Christmas during their sale. Has anyone ordered from TK or Wedding Channel? The cooler chairs we ordered were personalized and FI has a hold on his credit card from them, but we never got any sort of order confirmation. We've tried to email 3x to ask for it but haven't gotten a response. FI just told me he doesn't have a response and the hold has been taken off his card. So now we have no idea what happened, if anything!

I also e-mailed our TA about maybe flying home from Hawaii first class, or at least part of the trip first class since they are long flights and almost a full day of travelling. I also put in an e-mail to our JP. He was my cousin's JP and works with my uncle. My uncle spoke to him about about officiating our wedding but since my aunt and uncle are in the middle of a nasty divorce I wanted to make sure that I got in contact with him. He is supposed to call me tonight.

Yes they are. I was very lucky to have my books be avaliable for rent. The one book I did have to buy, I should back again and got 4 dollars for it. I was upset. But I am so lucky compared to what you ladies are going through

My bridesmaids aren't the ones "really" planning it. 2 of my bridesmaids are my younger cousins and 2 are still in college, so my mom and aunt are the main ones planning it. Have you talked to your mom about it? Can your bridesmaids afford to throw you a shower? Maybe it's a surprise.

And I just went and added more things to my registry!

My mom's helping my sisters plan one back home where the wedding is and a friend is planning my shower out at school. I'm talking to her now about my bachelorette party. I told her I'm not really the party girl and would like to do a Passion Party and Lingerie Shower. She said that was one of her ideas for mine! I'm excited. Now just need to get my showers nailed down

Hey ladies! I've gotten so much WR stuff done lately!

I cut all the stuff for the invites (just need to print and assemble), blocked the hotels today, FINALLY GOT OUR STDS PROOF, order New Years cards to put them in, looked into tents and I think I've decided on which ones/how many I want, helped to write out all the shower invites. I'm sure there is more, but I can't think of any now. I'm really pleased with everything I got done during the few days off I had this last week.

I made cute mad-lib RSVP cards. My mother doesn't think people will understand. I can't decide if I should use them or not. Thoughts?

They probably haven't thought much about your shower because of the holidays. Hopefully in a few weeks they'll begin to ask you asking questions. My MOH is wanting to plan a lingerie shower party for me and I'm kinda excited for it. It will something small with only about 8 people there. I'm not even sure if they're going to plan a bachlerotte party for me. I'm not a party girl either so who knows if they'll come up with something.

My sister was like I'm not creative so just tell me what you want and I'll do it haha. I'm sitting down with my sister that goes to school out here and my best friend out here. We're gonna work on the lingerie shower and the bridal shower out here

Just wanted to say that I love the two pairs of shoes you have picked. I love the rich color of the ones on the left, but overall like the look of the ones on the right. The ones on the left kind of remind me of Christmas, with the bow that sticks up so much.
