  • Kristin, the solution is simple - switch parishes. You do not need permission to do this, just call the secretary at St Anthony's and tell them you want to move your membership. Easy peasy.
  • i didn't mean to offend anyone when i said that there was a pretty chuch that i wanted to get married in.  that is not my reason for getting married at that specific church

my parents go to mass weekly at this church and i would like to get married there bc i know how important it is to them.  but i wasn't sure if i was allowed to or not.
  • I'm Catholic and my FI is not. He is also not baptised, but we are getting married at my family church, no problem.
  • WELL....after talking it over with my FI we decided to not get married in either St.Eds or St.Anthonys. We talked about why I wanted to get married in a Catholic Church and why he wanted to get married at the Christian church, and we decided that the Christian church would be better for us. He really wants to get married at the other church and I couldn't figure out why so much until he told me the importance of it to his mom and grandma. So we decided to get married there. but thanks for the help everyone!

Are you talking to a priest about a dispensation to have it there, but to make it a valid Catholic marriage?
