Goooood morning

Re: Goooood morning

  • Aleigh it was in FFF.

LVB I think you just took it was more personal than she ever intended anyone to take it.  And you are far from being the type of person she was even talking about.  I feel bad for her that I was also agreeing with her, and Emily on some points was too, and nobody was getting mad at anyone but Andy.

  • I don't think Safeway does any coupon doubling, at least not that I have seen.  They do the gas discounts though which is nice.  They are already the cheapest gas around, and then we easily earn $.10 off per gallon at least once a week.

  • I know what you're saying. At the same time, sitting here totally cool headed, I don't see how I couldn't have taken it personally. Because something like that IS personal to me. But I should have walked away from the computer and just let it be.

  • I think Andy phrased some things poorly, which left space for someone to either say "ok, I know Andy and know that she isn't evil, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt in interpreting this," or to say "I can't believe you typed those exact words, that is awful." Obviously I was doing the former, but I can't see how if it's an issue you take personally you would do the latter.

And Beach, because I saw that was happening with Andy, I tried to phrase stuff very specifically.
  • I kinda figured that Em, but you're also always very good at making your points in an elegant way.

  • I didn't take it as she shouldn't be saying those exact words specifically, I just took it as she has no right to judge what I eat, period.

But crap, I got to go .Going to H's grandmas 81st birthday...thing. She's full on dementia and won't even know we're there...

  • Enjoy, LVB? I don't know if that's the kind of event that is going to be fun or just something you show up at to support the family.

I think a lot of us, myself very much included, judge a lot of things that we know we shouldn't judge. Sometimes being honest about those judgments isn't the best idea.
  • I definitely agree with that Emily.

Not to keep going with the weight/size thing, but a few people in that thread mentioned judging super skinny people and wanting to tell them to eat a cheeseburger.  So many people think it's fine to judge someone for being too skinny when you have no idea of how they got that way and what their diet is.   Some people have thyroid issues or other health problems that have made them so skinny, and other just choose to carefully watch their diet and exercise to be that way.  However if someone saw an extremely obese person and said "get that person a salad," all hell would break loose.

  • That's a good point, DNB. I'm trying to read the thread now because I was gone most of the week and have no clue what's going on, and now I'm curious.

  • It's a pretty ironic FFF because the first 2-3 pages are everyone saying how E has turned all puppies and rainbows and nobody wants to argue anymore.  Then that changed.

  • Well, and now we have Daff and Nebb's lovely comments in the Tide's babies thread which are decidedly neither puppies nor rainbows.
  • Maybe puppies with giardia.

  • Yeah those comments were just downright rude, even for both of them.  I felt bad after my comment thinking Tide could think I meant it as being rude as well, but I definitely didn't mean it that way.
