Getting Nails Done

Hi GIrls,

I have never had my nails done, done any sort of manicure, had anything fake put on, nor even stepped foot inside a salon.  However, for my wedding I would like to get some nails because I work at a hospital and always have short nails. 

Can anyone recommend a good nail salon and what I should ask for?

    I don't have a salon rec since I usually just pop into whichever one is close by when I get the infrequent urge to get a manicure. :-)  I'm not super girly and into the nail treatments either.  I had fake nails once for prom years ago and I HATED them.  I will never, ever get them again just for the fact that they destroyed my nails and made them paper thin for weeks after.  I would really recommend just having your nails filed and painted nicely.  You can ask for a french manicure and they will paint a thin white line at the tip of your nail to make it appear that your nails are longer.  That's what I always have done.
