Hello-ello-ello!

Re: Hello-ello-ello!

  • I'm here now. I'm burned out on packing, and hoping that I can get everything done tomorrow so I can spend Saturday at the new house cleaning and such. But the pile of unpacked crap just seems to be growing and growing....
  • Did you see the 30 Rock episode at 8:30, Shelly?

I'm scanning JournalismJobs.com and getting progressively more and more pessimistic about my future. Sigh.

  • Katie - your stuff is probably multiplying whenever your back is turned.
  • FutureMrs--I missed the first one! I'm watching the one that's on now.  I was watching Spinal Tap and making dinner.

Milkduds--we have it every friday in our office.  Its heavenly!

I really think it is. There is no way that all of this stuff fit into this apartment...How do I have two boxes of bathroom stuff? I've gotten rid of sooo much stuff but it's not making a dent at all.
  • I'm here. I just got distracted by NBC for a while. I'm a little sad for Sam Bradford. I mean St. Louis is awesome and all, but the Rams? Umm...

Kristi- I was surprised by bathroom stuff too! There's just so much crap that seems unnecessary but somehow I couldn't live without it.

  • I am watching young guns II and lurking. It's a slow night tonight.
  • My parents are coming in tomorrow, and FI is still sick :/ I've been cleaning since I got home, the spare bedroom was OVERRUN with wedding stuff, yikes.

Now I'm watching V and reading posts, and I got blind sided by that nasty checks post!
  • I have discovered an amazing candy...Almond Joy pieces...yum!
  • Sucrets-- Can I say that I'm impressed with you actually being online after having a baby? I was dead to the world for at least the first month. HUGE kudos to you! :) I'm so glad you're doing well (or so it seems, from being able to post online!).

  • I'm catching up on blogs. I'm subscribed to too many of them. My eyeballs are about to fall out with all the reading.

  • I just found out FI is stuck in Houston for the night. I FUCKING DESPISE THE ENTIRE AIRLINE INDUSTRY. And now I feel like a loser for getting all blubbery and crying because he's not coming home tonight. I will never get used to flight delays when he's supposed to be home. Funny thing is, his flights going to wherever he's going for work are ALWAYS on time. It's the coming home flights that are fucked up more often than not.

  • Aw Lc that sucks :( Dh is still at work and probably won't be home until after I go to sleep. Definitely not at bad, but it still makes me mopey. We can mope together.
  • Aww LC, I'm sorry. Delayed flights are the worst thing ever when you're missing someone.

I am so bloody exhausted. I studied all morning and taught this afternoon, and then my best guy friend and I got together to study for our exams (we both are taking the same field, but strong in different areas). So first he explained the 20th century to me, and then I explained the 19th century to him. It worked pretty well, but my mind is totally overloaded right now.

I just want this stupid thing to be over.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • LC that sucks, but can I tell you that your sig pic always makes me happy! It always reminds me to smile big!

That makes me feel better :) Working opposite schedules, or having a spouse that travels for work every week is kind of like being in a LDR again. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't gotten all excited about him coming home. And I just found out that Continental isn't paying for a hotel room for him tonight because the flight was delayed by weather. So because FI can't control the weather, we're out the money for that room for tonight. Assholes.

  • Lauren, your smile makes me smile too. I'm pretty sure someone was saying you were pretty in one of the knottie polls today. It was something like "the girl with the big smile," so of course it has to be you!

  • Oh, and sorry about your FI being delayed. I would probably cry too.

  • That's bull that they won't front the bill. I remember when we had to pay a $600 towing fee because dh's old job made him go to work and then he got stuck in the snow on the way home.

I completely agree with work shifts equaling ldr. Sure you are physically sleeping in the same bed, but at different times, and you still don't have that support of someone to talk to after a hard day. For the first 3 months Dh was in Maine while I was in VA, then he moved in with me but was working overnights. I We would maybe see each other 3 waking hours a week. I still remember being so upset on my birthday because I had to work 9am until 7pm and he had to work 9pm until 8am. I didn't get to see him at all that day and just cried and cried.
  • Ugh, now my turn to whine. Dh just called and instead of almost being home like he's supposed to be, they had him start a project that he has to finish. So he's going to be rolling in around 1 or 2am...sigh...
  • Well I'm right there with you on the continuing to whine train. Just found out that every single flight from Houston to home is booked tomorrow. So I'm taking the day off work, driving to Houston to pick FI up, then coming straight back home. But whatever. It's worth a few hours in the car to me to have him home tomorrow.

  • I think we're both going to need lots of caffeine in the morning!

I'm calling it a night, talk to you tomorrow!
