    Ugh, yeah... it sucks when someone tries to make your life harder just to "toughen you up" for military life or something equally ridiculous.  It is tough enough without trying to make it tougher.  I mean, if it's possible, why not try to help each other out?  FI says it's usually the single guys who are married to the military who don't understand the importance of having a family life to go home to - I'm guessing the person who said that to your H was similar?  I just feel like there's so many times where it HAS to be tough, why don't the service members give each other a break when it's possible?  Masochists/sadists....
