Hey btches, chemo starts on Thursday. Word. I'm ready to get this party momofukin started.
DH & I went to NIH to discuss the possibility of a clinical trial. It was *whack*. The research nurse was eating lunch when we showed up. She made us wait an hour before putting us in a conference room. And then the gaadamn doctor who was supposed to be doing the trial didn't show up at all. He got "caught up" in something else and wanted us to reschedule. Momofuku, reschedule?? WTF. Andplusalso, I'm not interested in teaching fvkcing people anything. I know they got all creamed in the shorts 'cause I'm a cancer patient who is otherwise healthy as a horse. But fvkc that. As soon as I heard the word "randomization", I knew that sht wasn't for me. Maybe if I were someone who'd been battling this for years and had run out of options but hello, I am not that person. NO ONE'S TREATED ME YET.
So, once DH & I got home, I called my oncology nurse and told her to get me in the gaadamn chemo schedule ASAP. I start Thursday at 8 am. Countdown to Cancer Free starts then. Set your timers, heifers!
..
Re: Thunderbirds are go!
I think it is a good idea to try conventional treaments first rather than to risk being a control patient in a study.
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
Asshats obviously didn't know what kind of royalty you are. LOL!
Good luck!
::rolls up sleeves, does some stretches::
Let's do this thing! My timer has been set.
I'm sorry the clinical trial people were so lame. That is not cool. They should have been falling all over their damnselves for you.
Crap...I Mean Crafts
I go once every three weeks for 5-6 hours a day. It's a long day, but it's not very often. I can deal with that.
Also, the clinical people were all, "First we'll draw blood and do CT and PET scans and other tests. Then we'll get the pathology and THEN we start on the treatment that may or may not work." WTF again. I've spent the last 3 weeks getting blood drawn and scans done. They wanted me to essentially start all over again. Haylz Naw. I was like, "Y'all can kiss my narrow ass on that testing mess."

Yeah, those bastards want their own baseline testing because God forbid they trust the testing your Dr's did just a week ago.
:::vibes::: for Thursday!
THIS. Oh my lord, this.
He's 4 years in remission and healthy as a horse. He did an experimental treatment wherin he took chemo for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and then 24 hours a day through a pump for several weeks or months.
