Do you remember the first time you met FI? Tell us about it.

Yes, I was in middle school he was the older brother of one of my friends. I was terrified of him. I was pretty shy and quiet and he was a big guy, loud, lots of friends and I found him really intimidating. Well we all evolve and I re-met him many years later (8 years ago) at a BBQ at my parents house. I was living in Maryland at the time and was home for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. We started talking on the phone and I moved back to CT that summer. We have been together ever since.

We met at a Christian Student Fellowship meeting on campus. It was the Halloween meeting, so everyone was dressed up. Since it was Fi's first time coming, he didn't know to dress up and was the only one not in costume!

I was dressed up like a man at the time. LOL I still tease him about that

This question made me curious to see whether or not I could figure out an exact date. Just checked my calendar, and I can say that I met FI for the first time on 10/28/09

January 15th 2010 - It was a Friday night, and I was at a local bar/pizza place, having a few drinks. My friend and I had been there for about an hour when the most GORGEOUS guy I have ever seen walked in. I actually stopped breathing. He sat at the other end of the bar, and we kept glancing at one another. He got up, walked over, and walked RIGHT past me. I was disappointed, so I went outside to leave. As soon as the door closed behind me, I felt a hand on my shoulder -- it was the cute guy from the bar. We sat and talked until closing time. I put my number in his phone and told him to call me sometime.

He called me at 11 the next morning, and asked if he could take me to dinner.

That was nearly 3 years ago, and in 19 days, we'll be married.

Who says you can't meet a good guy at a bar?

Freshman engineering orientation day at UIllinois on August 25, 2005 was the first day that we met. We were in the same orientation group. There was a group activity to build a boat that would hold the most pennies out of 3 squares of aluminum foil. His group won, and my group's boat was embarrassingly awful (through no fault of my own). He still makes fun of me for that boat.

We actually met in highschool in 2002, he was my little sisters boyfriends best friend. He thought I was pretty and I was mean to him. Met him again in 2006 when I was engaged to another who was in Iraq (and cheated on me) and him and his friend used to come over and hang out. When my ex and I broke up, his friend tried to swoop in and snatch me up but we ended up sneaking off to a movie together and hit it off immediately. If you had told me in 2002 that I was marrying him, I would have laughed at you, but now I can see that he is the sweetest man I could ever ask for and I'm a very lucky girl.

We went to a very small college, and had several friends in common, so the fact that we didn't meet until our senior year was weird, although junior year is when we at least both began to know OF each other (he was in a comedy troupe with a bunch of my friends, and his best friend was quite close with (and ended up dating) my best friend). We were introduced at a party early on in our senior year that we were both at with our significant others at the time, and so I didn't think much of it. If I didn't have such a weirdly good memory, my guess is I might not have remembered!

We met on June 15, 2009. It was the first day of my current job. I had finished filling out the stack of new hire paperwork and my supervisor was introducing me to everyone in the office. We got to FI and I took one look at him and though, "Oh my God, this guy is HOT. How am I supposed to work with him?" And the rest is history.

Oh yeah! We were both send to the same military training for their math geeks, it was a 15 week course. The airline had lost his luggage so he couldn't wear his uniform like he was suppose to. So he walked in wearing jeans and a tee shirt to a room full if people in military uniforms and suits, face tinged red with embarrassment. Needless to say he caught my eye!

We met online and when we met in person at the mall for coffee. While we were there ther was a riot and he was protecting me by stand in front of me while we were locked in the store. We then went to see tron legacy and kept making big labowski jokes.

FI and I met online first, but I remember the first time we met in person. We had agreed to go out for coffee as our first real date, and I was without a car at the time so he offered to pick me up. That was when I first saw him face to face. I remember being immediately charmed by his smile and his voice. He had just moved into a new apartment and was all sorts of tired from hauling boxes around all day, but he was still excited to meet me. We ended up talking in the Starbucks until it closed.

I had just gotten out of a REALLY bad relationship a couple weeks earlier. I was out with my friend Derek and a few of my other guy friends. (I've always had a lot of guy friends.) Anyway we all went back to Derek's parent's house because they have a hot tub and there is nothing better than that after the bar. Anyway, at the time I knew Derek and FI were roommates in a townhouse nearby. I had heard rumors of his hot roommie but hadn't met him yet. After FI got done with work (he had a part time job as a bouncer at a night club in Minneapolis.) he came over and jumped in the hot tub with us. I talked to him a good chunk of the night I immediately developed a crush on him. He looked smoking hot in the hot tub! We became friends, both wanted more, but didn't start dating until 6 months later.

A little over 2 1/2 years ago I came accross this handsome young man (Thomas of course) on a social networking site (like facebook) by chance... I was looking to add "friends" to my list so was surfing randomly through some profiles when I saw his photo and said Hmmm that looks like someone I could spend the rest of my life with (jokingly)...so I "friended him".

His status said something along the lines of being lonely, so I being me of course, wrote him a message saying Awww someone needs a hug... that got us talking, we exchanged quite a few messages lol, then MSN id's and discussed getting together for a coffee and that hug!

I knew there was something special about him the moment we started chatting a flow of eletricity, a tingle, a connection, . I know sounds far fetched and people say NAH that doesn't happen...a few weeks later I happened to be in Ottawa where we met up so I could give him THAT HUG, and when we hugged, I knew my life would never be the same lol and well life has never been the same since...

we met on Facebook through a group for our college's program. Then we met face to face in teh second week of September in 2008. We had arranged to go on a campus veggie garden tour together but our guide never showed up., we play Tic tac toe on a rock and used another rock as 'chalk'. he saved the chalk rock and made me a promise ring for our 1 year dating anniversary.

i think ym first words were "sorry I'm late. You're wearing dead cow boots".

We met at work. The first we spoke was over the phone when I had been working in that position for less than a month, he was giving me crap for something not being done in a timely manner :P He would walk through my department a few times a week and took his lunch breaks in the break room on my floor instead of his. One summer I started spending more time in that break room, and we started talking....

Fi and I met in a bar...and long story short...we talked for 15 mins without saying my name is....and parted ways. I felt like a total ditz so I went and found him again to introduce myself which is 100 percent opposite of me. We exchanged numbers and again my ditzy self wrote the wrong prefix to my number I wrote his prefix with my last 4 because I was looking at his and just had a new number. Whoops! He never called..because he didn't have my right number...so I waited a week and called him....again so not like me!

March 8, 2008: We met at a bar. It was the birthday of a longtime friend of mine, and her cousin is my FI's best friend. Strangely enough, FI and I had never met before then. So I was out with my friend celebrating her birthday when he came in with his friend to meet us there. I'll never forget thinking how cute he was as he walked into the bar. We danced all night and went to Denny's for breakfast afterwards lol. He asked me what my favorite Michael Jackson song was and when it was the same as his, he said he knew haha!

We meet on Match.com so the first time I actually meet him in person was our first date. I know it's really bad, but I drove to his house so that we could ride together to dinner. FI is old fashioned, so he really wanted to drive me to dinner. So, I meet him outside of his house at night time and all I could think was, "God, please don't let this guy be crazy and keep me safe!". It turned into the best date I've ever had

We met at a 4th of July picnic in 2007. I believe I was supposed to be "set up" with another guy, but when I saw FI I was like wow he is hot! People were getting ready to play bocce and I asked if anybody wanted to play tennis and happily FI (who was going to play bocce) said yes! We found out we have the say birthday (different years). We played tennis for awhile before he asked me out. We dated for awhile and then I got crazy and broke up with him! About a year later after dating other guys and realizing I made a mistake I totally hallmark romanced and called him up and asked him to give me another shot. He did and here we are! YAY

We met online, and talked for months. He kept saying 'I want to meet you' and I kept avoiding him. Finally, I said "Friday night, as every other Friday, I will be having sitting at my favorite sushi place, at the bar, having a glass of Chardonney and a roll. If you want to meet me, come on in. If you don't like what you see - walk back out!". He did join me, we left there and went and shot pool and walked around until midnight - then he came to my apartment the next day to help me (I had planned to replace a part on both my washer and dryer).

We've been together since.

9/3/05- We met at a bar, my cousin brought him out for my sister's birthday. At first i thought he was a stuck up pretty boy from NJ but after talking to eachother all night he completely changed my mind. I asked him to be my date at the end of the night to wedding a month later on 10/1 (hence our dating anniversary today) and here we are 7 years later. Granted he forgot my name when he went to program my # in his phone but we were in a loud bar when we were introduced so ill let it slide;)

I actually feel really bad about this. FI and I worked together for 6 months! before I noticed him. We worked at a hotel with a pretty small staff, too. I claim it was because he worked days and I worked evenings, but there were at least 2 months in there where I was working days too. I really first noticed him on my first full-time morning shift. He came in the office looking so bright and happy, and I was clinging to a cup of hot chocolate and trying to wake up- I'm not a morning person at all. He said hello and somehow got me talking. I'm a pretty shy and solitary person. When the conversation turned to Garfield cartoons and Bill Cosby stand-up, I knew we'd end up pretty good friends. Four years later, we started dating

He's been my rock and leaning post and serious support system through so much crap. I'm really glad he woke me up that day!

We met on the first day of law school orientation. I sat down next to him and introduced myself, but I was so nervous about starting law school and meeting all these new people that I couldn't remember what he told me his name was! Thankfully he FB stalked me (lol) and I swear that after that we were immediate best friends. We were both from out of state (we went to Michigan State for law school and I'm from IN, him from PA), and we bonded over being the out-of-towners, so to speak. I never would have made it through without him and I am continuously amazed at how many circumstances aligned perfectly so that we could meet. Met online, but it was an Army Chat, we were both bored at work. He asked if anyone was in MD and I was like yup! Kind of crazy that of the 100s of rooms, we were both on there...

Anyway, he said he was originally from NC and I asked if he was near Boone (it's where my dad is from), and he was surprised I knew where Boone was! We actually almost both went there for college, but he joined the Army, and I went to a PA state school. We exchanged numbers and talked that night. He asked me out to dinner the next night. I was moving into the area from PA, so I just wanted to make friends. He told me to a local dinner, where we were both really nervous, but then we ended up talking for 2 hours in his truck in the walmart parking lot (yup, we're classy like that). I texted my friend afterwards that we would just be friends... HA!

We worked at the same place but in different areas (although only 2 min apart). I came to talk to one of my friends where my fiance had just started and i saw him. I thought he was all right looking but felt sorry for him because his arms, legs and a little of his face were pretty badly tore up (he had been in a pretty bad bicycle accident the night before) needless to say I kept "coming to talk to my friend" quite a bit after that lol (although he is such an intense guy that I worried he was a stalker) FOFL

working in fast food restaurant. he had worked there with my sister and gotten fired (HIS sister was the manager. she fired him a few times, lol). my sister was off at college and I was sort of her replacement when he got his job back. He was mixing batter when I walked in for my shift on a Friday afternoon. It was late Aug/early Sept. 2006. I was like "Hi, I'm Ashley's sister" and he was just like "I know." lol, soooo not impressed with me. but I was so smitten with him as soon as I saw his face. ahhhh

Our is the classic meeting at the bar story. Well, not so classic. His friend came up to talk to my friend. My FI and I started talking on the side and he ended up getting my number. That was 7/29/06 and our first date was 4 days later. We met for a drink and ended up talking the night away!
