This afternoon I might take my dad to get a tattoo for fathers day. If you knew my dad, you would know this is hilarious.
Tonight BF and I are having a picnic with his stepmom and her new boyfriend and seeing some music in the park.
Tomorrow.. I work.
Sunday my sister and I are taking my dad out for wings and gocarts.

Well he recently turned 50, and his whole life he's always been trying to make other people happy, so he decided as soon as something comes to his head, he's going to do it as long as it won't hurt anyone. So he decided he was going to get a tattoo. He chose the wolf howling at the moon because (in his words):

"I'm a lone wolf, baby! Arooooooo!"

I have a long commute, so just enjoying my house is pretty exciting these days.

1. My parents brought some family heirloom furniture for my house last weekend. So, I'm going to try and get those where I want them and get more boxes unpacked and things put away. I was repairing drawers and waxing runners earlier this week, so hopefully they are ready to go!

2. Once 1 is accomplished a room should be all cleared out which will allow me to paint. Very excited, I can't wait to get the spare bedroom in nice enough shape for BF's parents to visit in July.

3. Get the ambition to tackle the jungle that is my landscaping.

4. Make homemade meatballs.

I gravitate towards the domestic stuff really easily, so my weekends can sound pretty boring.

Oh, and my BF gets back from his work trip - yeah!

Having breakfast for dinner date night tonight, Going to see Toy Story 3!. Then tomorrow, going shopping with Oceana and Ana (yay real crate and barrel!), cleaning the apartment, and starting to study for these comps. Sunday maybe hitting up the pool in the morning and then more studying/preparing the most disturbing /drug related study materials I have for when I report to jury duty on Monday morning so maybe they wont pick me. Then its True Blood night yay!

Gaaahahah - that's awesome Narwhal!! You're dad sounds like a character.

As far as apartment hunting. Yesterday was DREADFUL. I looked at a couple duplexes that were just plain scary. I did look at one apartment that I think would work. I didn't absolutely LOVE it or anything, but everything was clean at the complex and the actual apartment was nice enough - nothing overly special. We decided to go ahead and submit an application, so I guess we'll find out Monday if we got it or not. I believe our big weekend plans are to go shopping for must need items for the apartment. I'm sure hoping to find some deals!!

First weekend I've been home in awhile! Looking forward to sleeping in and cuddling with my BF (assuming he doesn't decide to go running at 6:30am like usual - even then, he comes back and takes a shower and hops back in bed to cuddle me, so it's good).

My friend's family is taking out their boat tomorrow, so I might go with them. It's been awhile since I've been on a sailboat, and I'm not particularly experienced with 'big boat' sailing (I race small 14' boats called 420s or FJs), so I'm looking forward to it!

Tonight I have to go to a wake because my colleague's husband died of cancer, then my favorite wine place has a free wine tasting so some of my colleagues are going there after to cheer up. Tomorrow night I'm going to an open bar event my BF got invited to at a nice place on the water. And Sunday we've promised each other to seriously clean the house and mop and wash the walls and everything!

FI comes home from a work trip tonight...then we are grabbing drinks for a friend's birthday, heading to costco to stock up and then getting our apartment in order because......

tomorrow is a Cubs game and then his brother and sister in law are coming to Chicago for a few days. They have never been before so we have lots lined up to show them the town!

Sunday is another Cubs game, Monday and Tuesday FI is taking of work to take them to the Shedd aquarium and the Field Museum. Tuesday night I'm meeting up with them after the museum at Navy Pier to go up in the Ferris wheel and have dinner on the Pier. Wednesday I'm taking off work to go shopping on Michigan Avenue, have tea at the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the Hancock building, and then exploring Millennium Park....ending with Chicago style pizza at Uno's. Then they leave on Thursday morning!

Phew! I'm super excited to show them the city. I love being a tourist in my own town :-)

Brian and I are working on the house! We're going to go pick out a paint color for the 2nd bedroom (color TBD) and paint! We went shopping last night all bought all kinds of stuff - rugs, shower curtain, this, that, etc.

We're also going wedding band purchasing - we seriously need to get that done asap. Then maybe Toy Story 3 and trying out a new restaurant by our new home. : )

Also, for any Celtics fans out there, I just found out Kevin Garnet lives in my new town! Cool!!

Narwhal, this borders on snarky but really it's not intended to be - I'm telling you what I'd want someone to tell me if I was considering that tattoo!

Make sure it doesn't look like a varicose vein, because that design kind of does a little. A few less branches, a little more defined rather than just lines, might make it more clearly as a tree rather than a burst blood vessel.

Now please don't hate me

I'm not anti-tattoo, just don't want you to realize afterwards that it looks like a varicose vein.

Ricky, I am jealous. Immensely.

My weekend consists of trying to not kill my mom. She will be here in about 4 hours.
Mr. Man's shower is tomorrow.

My MOH is staying in town afterwards to help me deal with my mom. We are going to go by the house, do some shopping and then go to dinner.

DH is on his annual father-son fishing trip this weekend. Booo! (Not really, I love that it is such a long standing tradition among his father and all of his friends. There is a group of almost 20 guys that have been going for 20+ years.)

This weekend is finishing programs! Will have pictures (hopefully) on Monday.

Going to Savannah for Father's Day. Might come in to work for a bit tomorrow if I have to.

Next week I start making invitations for a friend's wedding. She loved ours and hired me to make hers! Yay! Maybe I can get pictures of theirs up here too.

I'm most excited about spending some QT at Wrigley! Last summer we went 15 games and this summer we only have 6 or 7. We were going almost every other week! We went to one back in May but it was a rooftop game, so I'm pumped to be in the stadium and hanging out the bleachers working on my tan. OOO! And don't forget the Wrigely Dogs with carmelized onions...DELISH!

I've only been to Chicago once a looong time ago. I have a VERY serious love for Wrigley Field and it is on my list of "must-sees". FI very much hates the Cubs. Hate isn't even a strong enough word for it. But...it's because he's a Cardinals fan and well..you know how that rival is! I'm actually a Cards fan myself but...there's just something about Wrigley. We're going to try and plan a trip next year so I can see a game there.

I'm also pretty far along on my programs. Waiting to meet with the pastor to make sure the ceremony order looks good, then they are ready to print.

I mailed out my invites this morning. Paul and I are progressively getting more and more questions about wedding related events, etc. I figured it was a good time to get them out.

Seeing 70 days this morning has kind of made me say eek. I feel like I have a TON to get done yet.

Tomorrow morning will be working wedding related stuff then going to my cousins graduation party. Tomorrow evening is dinner with FI's friend. Sunday - I may see my dad... he is going out of town tomorrow, who knows when on Sunday he'll be back. Sunday night is Punch pizza at F-IL's.

Wurrrrrd up.

I have just had a stressful morning. My pay was late. 4 days late. Then they wouldn't cash my paycheque. It was a good morning. But I have my money now and I'm home with the pugs, in my yoga capris (omfg it's 28 degrees outside) with my airconditioner on full. It's lovely. I also think I DESERVE that brownie in the fridge. So I will be eating it shortly.

Tonight FI and I are looking at another venue. Then a bonfire with as much beer as I can safely consume. Tomorrow I have no idea what we're doing but it's supposed to be hot again so we might go swimmin'. Sunday I work then supper at Mom and Dads.

Venue update: We saw the place last night. Everything we're looking at is a hotel (for now) so it's nothing fantastically amazing but I'm pretty excited about them. The one we saw last night was really great b/c it has all these lil extras (a bizillion different colours of linens, centerpieces are included - just like the ones I wanted to have, and a bunch of other treats for FI and I;) ), it's also got a ceremony site that is lovely, our room over looks a park and the harbour and it will be BEAUTIFUL at night. Also, there is a beautiful little park next door so we don't even need to go anywhere else to do pics or anything. *phew*

I'll let you know how tonight goes after we get home.
