Re: OOT bags

  • I'm doing OOT bags, but not bathroom baskets.

For OOT bags, I'm making a brochure with a schedule of events (RD, wedding, breakfast) and some restaurants/things we like in the area, and including a map, starbucks VIA, snacks from costco and water bottles. I'm buying the actual bags at the dollar store, most likely.
    my read shelf:
Meredith's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
    40/112

    Photobucket
  • I did oot bags and bathroom baskets. 90% of our guest list was from oot and were staying the entire weekend (came in Thursday, left Sunday night). I included maps of the area, lists of restaurants, local places of interest and a thank you note for coming to the wedding.

The bathroom baskets were put together by my sil because our venue was out in the boonies. They had Tide pens, Tums, breath mints, gum, tampons (women only), tweezers, emergy boards, bobby pins, elastic hair ties, tissue, Tylenol, band-aids and some other things. Most came home with me at the end of the night but many guests said they appreciated them being there.

<div>I don't think we're doing this still... it's mostly family, and my mom was bitching about people not knowing where everyone was staying.  So we thought about making a cute "Guests of the Steph/FI Wedding" or something cheesy.  But now I realized it's too much. ;)</div>

We did OOT bags.  We went a little over the top with them since our wedding was so small.  They had a schedule of events with NYC tips, snacks like granola bars, apples, candy bars from a local place, etc., a Time Out NY Visitors Guide, mints and lip salve from a famous NY apothecary, water, mini bottles of Purell, I <3 NY tee shirts and some kleenex with bride/groom on them.

ETA: Oh, and everyone really liked the bags.  One of my BMs said the snacks totally saved her because they were starving when they got in.
  • ohh the coupon thing is a good idea.  Maybe I'll ask around to see if anyone is willing.
  • We did very basic OOT bags..actually little baskets found at the dollar store.

We put snack size Pringles, oreos, Hershey kisses, 2 water bottles and chewy candies and a small little note from me.

Everybody loved the thought and it wasn't too much trouble at all.
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.
