Well...

It turns out Metformin really does the trick for me! After being diagnosed with PCOS in February, H and I are expecting our first little one. I'm due in early March 2013!

  • That's great! I had read it as you initially thinking that bearing kids wasn't a possibility medically. It is good to know options are out there for those with the condition. Are you guys talking baby names already?

<div>We definitely hadn't exhausted all of our possibilities. Metformin was actually the very first thing (beyond charting and OPK's) that we did. So it's really exciting that it worked! :)</div>

<div>Completely fine, except for the fact that I'm tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I get. I'm not sure if that's related to the fact that I've sworn off caffeine or what. No nausea or anything, though. :)</div>

Posted by mrandmrsbrist[/QUOTE]<div>Yep.  Sounds about right, no matter how long I slept, and I didn't swear completely off caffeine.  Regular coke was the only thing that helped the nausea.  Ginger ale just made it worse.

<div>*writes down* I'll need to keep that in mind. The only thing that makes me kind of barfy so far is taking the stupid prenatal on an empty stomach. Haha. I will be telling E this when he gets home, though. :)</div><div>

I would sip on a can/small bottle throughout the day.  It's not like I was going through 3 or 4.  <div>
</div><div>I started taking my vitamins at night, right before bed, and it's really helped.  I also ended up switching to the gummies because I can't swallow the pills (especially the DHA pill) without gagging.  The only issue with those is they don't contain iron, and I think mine may be a little low, since I'm still exhausted and you're *supposed* to get your energy back in the 2nd tri.  I have another round of bloodwork on Monday, so if it's low I may need to supplement that.</div>
