WOOO!! Man, this week flew by! I feel like it just started!! We had our first real snow fall last night and I took Lucy out in it. At first she was like, "WTF is this?" but then she got super into it.

Political question: Ron Paul. What the hell is with the media? Why do they act like he doesn't exist?

Who in the media is pretending that Ron Paul doesn't exist? I hear about his almost daily. Maybe he gets less international coverage because of his foreign policy ideas? :P

After the results from the last primary came out, and he was 3rd (?) there were reporters saying "Well, actually Huntsman finished 3rd if you take Ron Paul out of the equation." What? How can you take Ron Paul out? He's running! He won votes! And then this morning, I was watching the BBC and while covering the debates from last night, I kept thinking why there were no clips of RP's responses. Come to find out, the BBC commentator said that he wasn't given any questions or time to respond. *shrug*</div><div>

Snippy, I have a feeling that a lot of media outlets don't consider RP a viable contender for the Republican nomination. I've heard him mentioned as a natural third-party candidate. So when they are covering the primaries, they ignore that white elephant and go straight for Romney and the not-Romneys.

I think he's interesting to listen to and think about, but I can't imagine pulling out of all the foreign obligations, leaving Israel to its own devices, and switching back to the gold standard. To me, that's all crazy talk.

Well, admittedly, I know very little of the type of policies he would like to institute. Actually, I would say that I know nothing. I just find it incredibly biased-- whether the media or even the party think of him as a 'real' candidate-- to completely ignore or in other ways deride his actual existence AS a candidate. The media has an obligation to provide impartial coverage (though we all know that doesn't actually happen) and it's never been more clear that they do not follow this credo.

Good morning! I'm so happy it's Friday, but I'm bummed because it looks like we're going to be snowed out all weekend.

My engagement ring is warped (it's a solitaire with an soldered enhancer, and it looks like the soldering is loose), so we're getting that taken care of today. And then (hopefully, if it's not snowing too badly), we're going to fire spin at a friend's house. We haven't gone spinning since summer, so we're pretty psyched about it. It's going to be cold, but that's what coffee and hot chocolate (and flames) are for.

Do you have a picture of your ring bay? Just curious. My ring is a solitaire with an enhancer as the wedding band but I never got my soldered. I don't plan on it either, I like being able to take them apart. I was just curious what it looked like put together.

Stacks, it's not a great picture, but here:

The main ring is just a brilliant cut in a plain band, but th enhancer has five little diamonds in graduating sizes on each side, sort of swirled. I wouldn't mind wearing just the solitaire but I think H would be hurt. He took a lot of pride in picking out the enhancer, and last night when I suggested just taking them apart so I could keep wearing the engagement ring until I got it fixed, he didn't like the idea. I'm too nervous to wear the ring until it gets re-soldered. Which makes my finger feel naked.

<div>I know this is really early to jump into politics but I wish the media would stop doing that. It is my opinion that Paul has a lot of power in this election. If he does not win the nomination and if he does not back the republican candidate (which he has already addressed that he may not do that) his supporters will either vote third party, go back to voting democrat, or may not vote at all. I feel like he holds so much power and he is being underestimated. </div>

I like that bay! I couldn't imagine not having a ring on, I'd feel so naked too! After we got married on our HM when my solitaire fell out of my freaking ring I had to just wear the enhancer the entire HM. So I know people were looking at it like, Ummmmm why is her ring weird and have a huge hole in the middle. They probably thought I just didn't know I was supposed to pair it with another ring. Whatevs, I had to wear something it was my HM!
