However I never get carded, and haven't been for a few years, when I was 16 I was on a plane with a man who said he had a daughter my age. She was 26, no one can tell how old I am
Also, off topic, Steph, I realized I lied in the questions you asked me last night. I said I was 'for' Dollar Dances, but I was talking about it with FI later that night, and he said: "aren't those considered tacky?" I asked: "What's tacky about strippers?" Turns out I didn't actually know what a dollar dance was. So no, I am not in favor of begging for money at weddings. Pardon my ignorance.

FI will be 25, but with his beard looks 30. In fact, the first time my sister, who was 7 or 8 at the time, met him the first thing she asked was if he was 30, haha.
My FIL (who is 60 and looks it) was recently carded at an airport bar. When he asked the bartender about it, the bartender explained that an obviously elderly woman had recently either sued or threatened to sue for age discrimination when she WASN'T carded.
Since then, I've taken getting carded as a grain of salt. It's more likely to be a CYA for the vendor than a comment on my youthful good looks.
