Favor Help

Hi Ladies,

Our favors are the Marti-Money lottery tickets, which we have already bought and a holder for them that says "Dreams and wishes in all your riches, Thank you for sharing our day". My idea was to hot glue 2012 pennies onto the corner of them so people can scratch them off and it says 2012 for our wedding year. Well, I didn't realize how hard it wold to be get the pennies, so I started looking at tokens.

I found these:

http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-wedding-tokens-a2-4_4935-12-1.fltr?Ntt=wedding+tokens

but, they are $10 for a dozen, I think people will just throw them out so it seems like such a waste since we need 180 of them, so $150 total plus shipping.

Any ideas where I can get a cheaper token (doesn't need to be engraved) or anything else I can use that would allow people to scratch it off and see if they won?

I am at a loss...

Thanks!

  • It won't be as special, but why not just use pennies from any year? I think you're right in that guests will just use them to scratch their ticket and then put them in their wallet.

  • or you could use pennies from the year each of y'all were born?
  • I agree with PP most people will throw away a token. And I honestly doubt people would notice if the penny was a 2012 or not. I'd just use a regular penny it's not that big of a deal.
  • Yeah I guess that makes sense. I was overthinking it. Thanks ladies!

I'd just use the pennies, regardless of the year =]

  • If you really want a certain year, why can't a bank sell them to you? Or if theres a mint around, they usually sell the newest versions of coins in thier gift stores.
