Photo Locations - Late December

Hi Ladies!
We're looking for post-ceremony photo locations in the Brecksville area for a December 29th wedding at 2pm.  Preference would be free, but what we're really looking for is something CLOSE to the church.  We're concerned about natural daylight slipping away and not having enough time to get some good shots outside...  Our outdoor location is going to be the Brecksville Reservation at one of the pavilions, but we would like to have a nice indoor/well covered and well lit option if the weather is ghastly.

Any ideas?  One of the photographers we talked to mentioned covered bridges, but I don't think there are any in a close area around Brecksville.  We don't want to drive TOO far away - the reception is in Strongsville.

Thank you!!

Re: Photo Locations - Late December

  • For an guaranteed comfy indoor spot for winter, head to Strongsville for pics inside the Brooker Insurance Building. The winding 2-story staircase is lovely, and there's a mantle w/ some antique furniture in the lobby. It's on Pearl Rd. right around Albion, IIRC. There should be pics in my bio somewhere. We did ours there. It's not free, but rental is only $75 -- not too bad. Near Strongsville, in Olmsted Falls (10 min away?) there are a couple covered bridges -- at least one is near the center of 'town' at Grand Pacific Junction.

For 'free', if you can get permission, there's the Brecksville library (if you're bookish at all it could be fun). Um, the Brecksville Nature Center isn't very large, but one wall is all windows to a birdfeeding area which could make for a unique backdrop for a pic or two.

Also, in Independence, the Cleveland Clinic building's lobby has a decent fountain, IIRC. Check 'em out in person first though to see if they'd work for you. Or, maybe one of the numerous hotels on Rockside might have an interesting lobby?
