Alternate/Ultimate wedding???

Just curious, if you were to plan an alternate/ultimate wedding and could have anything and everything you always wanted, what would it look like?

My alternate/ultimate dress would be something couture, in ivory, but with some hand-painting on it in lots of colors. I had seen a dress similar to this many years ago, it was a beautifully hand-painted gown that I saw in a Neiman's catalog once...unfortunately I can't find a picture of anything similar.

I would get married in a castle in a big elaborate gown that looks centuries old. : )

    <div>This and this. Here: <a href="http://www.tideszihuatanejo.com/weddings/index.html">http://www.tideszihuatanejo.com/weddings/index.html</a></div><div>
</div><div>ETA: What makes me kind of sad is that for the total of our budget, we could've probably done this (not for the whole week) and covered the trip for our immediate families and closest friends. But... it is what it is. This way I don't have to listen to my mom complain about how hot it is. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" /></div>

I would have one of those shabby-chic outside garden weddings with lanterns hanging from trees and and a fabulous band in a gazebo. With lots of booze!

Hrmm... my ultimate wedding would probably take place on Moreton Island (off the coast of Brisbane, Australia). On the beach. At dusk. And I would have the money to bring all of my closest friends and relatives there for at least a week.

Overall, I'm not a beach wedding sort of girl... but I went to Moreton Island back in high school, and it's seriously the most beautiful place I've ever been to.

    Ooh! Good question!

My ultimate wedding would be on a great estate on Lake Minnetonka. The ceremony would overlook the water and guests would sit on simple white folding chairs. The reception would take place under the open sky (because the weather would be perfect, of course), but lights would be strung above us. Brown chivari chairs, lots of peonies, and simple food - boneless BBQ ribs, gourmet brats, BBQ roasted chicken, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes.

FI would wear khakis and a white button-down shirt, no tie, shoes. I would wear a great Claire Pettibone-esque dress with no shoes, beachy hair worn down.

I would do a castle in France and fly everyone there as well. Both Joe and I studied abroad in France and LOVE the country so it would be great to get married there. In fact my ering is the same style of a ring he bought me off the streets of France.
