Hello all!
I already posted on the intro thread, and I was being good and reading the "rules before posting" thread, and it suggested to introduce myself as well.
I joined the Knot because my younger sister is getting married next July and I am the maid-of-honor. I am having a lot of fun helping her plan her wedding! I thought this would be a good website to get ideas.
I stumbled upon the boards when I was checking out the website today. I am in a serious relationship, not engaged yet and not talking about getting engaged at this point.
A little about myself-I am 27, live in Michigan, and a civilian contractor for the Army. I have a pup chihuahua/jack russell mix named Jilly and I enjoy spoling my nephew, eating delicious foods and drinking wine. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Did I already say I enjoy wine?

Hope to "meet" you all soon!

It's a toss up between cheesy green bean casserole or garlic mashed potatoes! I love both and not having seconds of either is not an option.

[QUOTE]Michigan FTW! I'm from Michigan! Don't live there anymore, but my family does and I'm forever a MI girl at heart. Wanna play Euchre? Anyway, welcome to the board! I like wine, too.

I'm always up for a good game of euchre! I love how Michigan and wine brings people together, haha.

You passed the mashed potato test, but how do you feel about Harry Potter? And Canada?
I like your intro.
If you don't like Harry Potter, that's ok. We can ignore the posts together and talk about something else.
Wrkn - I am totally in the non-HP camp with you!
I still love wine despite drinking too much of it on Wednesday night.

Love Harry Potter. Although, admittedly I am a little behind on the movies. I have read all of the books, though.
I could care less about Canada. Except for Michael Buble. He's hot, and I enjoy his music. (If you had asked me about Canada when I was 19, I might have answered this differently :)

Okay, fine how about Canadians then??
This sounds like a story. What's the story about Canada at 19?
ML - Definitely not the only one.
Nenna - I also enjoyed some Malbec while watching Grey's Anatomy. Oh speaking of... I have a Private Practice to watch today.

Is it because Canada is awesome and has a lower drinking age than here and you went over there to drink? Please say yes, I don't want to be the only one. ;)

Canadians don't bother me.
No specific story, however here in Detroit it's as simple as crossing the border and you magically go from being able to legally drink at 19 instead of 21. It's pretty awesome when you are 19. After you turn 21, you're over it.

If she's the same as me at 19:
My ultimate vacation plan was to go to Canada so I could participate in my recreational activities of choice without legal consequences...

PPE, I drank in Canada at 19 :) And took my little sister there to drink on her 19th bday too. But I still love Canada, despite my legal drinking status in the US. . . I am not just a fair weather friend of Canada!<div>

YES! I also loved Canada when I was 19 and 20. Though it's a bit further trek for me.
My friends also crossed the Canadian border for the purposes of drinking at a lower age than that of MN.
Glad someone's with me. I don't care that the threads exist, I just don't open them and rain on everyone else's parade.
So if anyone pages or mentions me there, I will never see it.
I'm pretty mad that I forgot what 'The Sorting Hat' was, and opened that post mildly interested. Dirty tricksters.

I'm with you too ladies. I'm a fan of the books and movies, I guess I'm just not that BIG a fan.
That wasn't my recreational activity of choice at 19.
Nenna, sweet! Euchre rules.
