Stations set up?

Hi Ladies -
We are going to have a stations reception and are trying to figure out the best way for it to be set up. Our venue is a historic mansion that does not have one main room so we will be spread out between 3-4 rooms (and a large hallway). We could take up one of the rooms with all the food in there (this room has 3 entries/exits), it could be throughout the central hallway (then right in the middle of things) or it could be a different station in each room ( you would have to walk around a bit to fill up your plate if you wanted to eat in one sitting, or it could make you mingle even more.) What are your preferences? It seems like there are pros and cons of each option.

I'd spread it out. It will alleviate lines.

Ours was in one room separate from the ballroom where people ate. This worked well for us. As I guest, I would not want to go from room to room. Our hallway was used for the cocktail hour and for guests to hang out and relax and we also put our candy buffet there.

I vote all in one room as well. That way you only have to go and come back from one place while dressed up in heels carrying a plate, which can be difficult. People can mingle in the hallway while they wait for the food or on their way back.
