Balloons

Hello,

I am considering decorating my reception hall with balloons in the wedding colors, filled with helium and tied with nice matching ribbons so that they fly above the dancefloor, and everywhere :)
colors would be navy blue white and gold / beige. (matching the hall).

Do you think it might look ok or not ?

Thank you so much !

Re: Balloons

  • Before you get your heart set on the idea... Make sure your facility allows it.  (If you haven't already, of course)  I know my reception hall has some weird tiling that stains easily.  You are actually required to wear gloves to even touch the ceiling for any reason.  Hope this isn't the case with your place! GL
  • It might be fun and festive, but I agree with PP that you should see if your venue allows it first.
  • It's a little prom-ish for my taste, but it's your decor.  I'd lean toward globe lanterns instead, though.
  • Hello
thank you so much for getting back to me.
Yes the venue does allow it :)
  • Globe laterns look great, but I am worried about how to install them ?
Whereas ballons just fly above it's easier..
  • i love the completly round ballooons i think those look great!

i would say stick to one white for balloons and for ribbon do navy blue and gold. I personally don't  like the way navy blue or gold balloons look but i love white ones.

    good luck!
  • Just an idea here...  we are bringing some balloons out after the ceremony (New Year's Eve), and I bought those blinking lights you can put in the balloons.  They also have ones that don't blink.  I think having some non-blinking ones floating around may add a little to it :)

White Ballons with blue and gold ribbons could look great.
I think I will have mostly whites, with some blue and gold to remind of the colors.

Psuxray, where did you find the blinking lights ? indeed that could look amazing.

    thank you so much !

BTW,  I found this picture on the website :

this is in the idea of what I want :)
  • No prob! I got them at Michaels in the wedding aisle.  They have a bigger pack of the non-blinking ones.  If you haven't already, be sure to sign up on their website, because you get coupons all the time and can use it towards that.  The pack was around $10, but hey every bit helps!

  • I am also using balloons for decorations at my reception.  We have alot of kids coming as well as in the family so they can take them home afterwards!

I love the inexpensive and fun idea.
