Our list for the RD is 200!! Seriously parents not everyone has to be there. Stop thinking people will get all offended and if they do they will see what it's like when their kids get married.

Edit: Yes, the guest list for the wedding has gone up.

My B&Ms:
I don't get another paycheck (other than military - which just comes whenever they feel like sending it) until June. Ugh.

I swear, this professor of mine is so nice 1 on 1, but he is either completely oblivious or kind of evil when it comes to class...Essay final exam today - open book... but we have no idea on the questions/specific areas (oh, and there were LOTS of readings). I've been frantically making notes to use for the last week.

I just woke up after sleeping since 2 pm yesterday afternoon, and my head still feels very cloudy and weird. I hope it's a mix of jet lag and the fact that before yesterday, I hadn't slept in nearly 48 hours.

Thankfully I have the next two days off to recover and get some things done, like the laundry and wedding gifts that are overflowing our house right now, and also to visit the offices to start the name-changing process.

But right now I'm just in my PJs, watching the last week and a half's worth of TV, and wishing this fuzzy feeling would go away!

@Deepthi - Well, they will process it before the end of May, usually in the 2nd half of the month (plus they owe me travel pay - which just comes whenever it gets processed).
Just generally financially stressed - can't wait to find a REAL full-time job (but that will probably have to wait til August)

Here's mine and it was left over from Friday, but I thought I might get a resolution over the weekend... it didn't happen:

I called the restaurant where my reception is to be held to set up a tasting. She scheduled it for May 14th, this Saturday. I called Friday to confirm, she cancelled it due to her renovation not being complete. I don't remember if I mentioned before, but due to the snow storms, her pipes busted and she did a complete renovation and she supposedly started in February and was to finish at the end of April.

She's not done and won't be done for at least another week and half. I tried to get my MOH to go up there to check on the progress so we would know how close they were to being done... MOH made an appointment for yesterday and she cancelled that too.

I'll probably start calling by Wednesday for other places, because it makes me really nervous. It's already last minute and she may not even be done. Needless to say I was NOT in a good mood all weekend and now I'm just over her and trying to figure out what to do next

Should I wait? Or figure out a Plan B. Where do I find a Plan B this late in the game for Memorial Day Weekend?! ugh.

That really bites. You know, you may not have as hard a time as you think if you're going the restaurant route. Sometimes, restaurants are so slow on those holiday weekends. You may luck out. Oh, and I don't think I would wait.

I wouldn't wait either Miss Angel. I would start calling around now to get a feel but also set a deadline of when you want to know when the reception place will be ready, like say a week before the wedding or whatever you are comfortable with and if it's not done then, move on. You'll need to time to let your vendors know the change of venue, figure out how you want the room assembled and those sort of things.

I have had a hell of a time with my allergies and sinuses this season. I finally got what felt like a big ball of mucus out from behind my nose, but my poor ears still feel clogged. I'm taking sudafed now hoping something takes the pressure from them, otherwise I'm going to have to find time to go see a specialist.

This. The Rx I take is Rescon, and it really does seem to help out a LOT. I also got custom allergy drops from my PCP but I never take them because they make me itchier than I already am (you'd think after 75+ shots in my back to get them made I'd actually take the damn things...nope!). Anyway, I'm sorry you're allergies are bad too, but I hope you are able to find some relief soon! I've never been a specialist -- just my PCP -- so if you do go you'll have to let me know how it goes!

Ugh, Monday. I leave the apartment 5 minutes late, which normally isn't a problem, yet I finally reach Denton, park my car and I have to sprint across campus to make it to work on time all because of traffic. Then, my first day working alone up front at my new job and I get this spazz who will not SHUT UP and we have to demand for him to sit down and wait patiently! It took 30 minutes to finally satisfy his answers and rambling before he finally left!

Also, Graduation is this weekend and while I'm totally psyched, my family is making me plot out maps for friends who are coming up and who they gave the ok to stay at a Hotel they just assumed was by the university, when it is NOT, instead of asking me before telling them to book. So now, because of this, I have to figure out how the hell they're supposed to get everywhere and meet up with everyone when I honestly don't know! I may be going to school in Denton but I don't actually know my way around this town considering I've lived and spent most of my time in Lewisville X_x Thank god for Google maps though. Still I wish they wouldn't put everything on me when they have friends who have been living in this town since forever and know it much better than I do!!! Too much stress this week /><

It has to be Vietnamese food. So I will start calling tomorrow since I forgot my phone at home today. I live in Houston, so I can't make long distance calls to Dallas from work. I'm just afraid about moving it to another suburb when my room blocks are already in Arlington. I really hope I don't have to resort to the Chinese Buffet down the street.

Try the borders of Duncanville too. It's pretty close. Did you think of trying one of halls or conference rooms at the hotels? You can dress those up.

Not because of FI but because of his parent's. I'm the best thing that he has brought home and they want to act like I'm a demon. I think not. I've never done anything bad or horrid to them. IMO I'm a pretty good future DIL.
I hadn't shared this but the FIL's offered to host the RD a year ago. When they offered it, I was in tears because I knew that financially they were on a tight income. It meant alot to me.They told me that they would say a little each month. Nothing had been planned and I was getting nervous. I asked FI if his parent's had said anything about the RD. FI brought it up and that is when it hit the fan. They hadn't saved anything.Nada! FI was beyond pissed. We hadn't asked them for anything financial in relation to the wedding. They just shrugged it off. A few days later his mom asked him if they could pay for half over time. I guess it wouldn't have been that bad if they would have said we can't afford to pay for the entire RD but we have saved XXX and would like it to go towards. But nothing. His mom is also still mad at me because I hadn't include her in anything wedding related.
FI is an only child. I'm don't know if I can deal with them.

To op it off I lost $150 in giftcards....I had them all in my envelope with reciepts from the shower and now they aren't in there. I don't know if I misplaced them or they fell out somewhere. I'm beyond frustrated.

Not much, except FI's poor dog has developed some kind of huge allergy and has red, runny eyes and this morning sounded like her sinuses were all clogged up. =( She's pitiful.

My B&M is my car! My car is 10 yrs old this summer, and I've had it since it was new. Really, it has been a great car, besides a few issues, but I haven't had to put much money into it besides normal maintanance.

Well a week or so ago, my driver's side headlight went out. Not a huge problem, but it's had issues lately and I just replaced the exact same bulb about 6 months ago.

Also, my inspection is due this month and my check engine light is on. So I decide to take it to Firestone (I used to use Goodyear, but FI didn't trust them, and suggested this Firestone) to have them replace the bulb, check for light socket issues, change my oil, and run the diagnostics for my engine light. They were nice enough, and let me know I could even open a credit line if needed. I thought that was weird, because while the above services wasn't just $20, it was far from expensive enough to open a line of credit.

When they call me back, they rattle off everything that is wrong with it, and say factory products are required, and it will be $2700!!! What? From what I can tell, my car is running fine!! It's probably barely worth $5000 and there is no way I can imagine putting that much money in my 10 yr old vehicle! FI said it was crazy and that we would figure something else out.

So no, we do need to figure something out soon. My check engine light is still on and I need an inspection. What to do.....

tmacwin - You can have Autozone or Orielly run the codes on your car and they will tell you exactly what is wrong with it for free. Then you can either fix it yourself or call around and get estimates on fixing exactly what is causing the light to come one without all of the extra fluff work.

B&M- I bought shoes off DSW online for my graduation Thurs. They didn't fit so I returned them and re purchased them in a larger size and did 2day shipping to get here in time. They sent the confirmation email and its not 2day shipping so now I don't know if my shoes will get here in time

at least I didn't pay for the 2day shipping. I don't know what ended up happening there.

missangel- that stinks! I am sorry. I have faith it will work out ok, but boo the added stress!

MLandCJ - I feel the same way when it comes to my parents verses FI's. My FILs are wonderful. They are super helpful and two of the nicest people you will meet. My parents can be a terror. I tell FI that if he doesn't want to marry me because of them I really understand. He says I'm worth it and we keep going.

Kendall - YES!! He's a jerk and I hope he gets harsh penalties. They have to make sure others know it's NOT ok to do that ever!

My fourth MUA is flaky now too! I have terrible luck with this. I'm about to give up and just do my own Make up which is fine, but I'll have to figure out how to fix my own hair. Trust me at this point it's sounding more appealing.

Also, the coordinator at the church finally got back with us after almost two weeks of me and FI calling. FFIL called and threatened to talk to the head priest, we got a call literally a min later from her. She apprently needs my priest/uncle to fill out some paperwork. We didn't know anything about this before hand and of course she wasn't returning our calls. Well, he left for India yesterday and won't be back until June 1st. Guess I'll be stressing out until we get that figured out!

Following this post, I am going to have the most angry ANGRY workout of all time. Bear with me, this is the most B&Ming I've done here.

We mailed our invitations on Friday, and while over at FIL's house on Saturday found out that the seal on the envelope came UNDONE and the flap was wide open upon arrival by the USPS. I secured those envelopes with glue. How they came undone is beyond me, and I thought that maybe it was just FIL's and FSIL's that were delivered that way.
UNTIL later Sat. night when J and I checked the mail. We had our first RSVP envelope, which was empty. There wouldn't have been time for anyone to receive and send their RSVP and still be delivered the day after we mailed the invites. This has to mean that the contents of an entire envelope spilled out in transit and only the envelope would get to me and the intended recipient. EMPTY. Who didn't get their invitation? NO clue. I won't know until the RSVP deadline, or unless it was a close friend or relative. The excuse of 'your invitation must have been lost in the mail' could never be more true.
My parents (who live in KY) received theirs today and the flap was open. I spoke to her yesterday and warned her about what had already happened to FIL's. I'm not mad at anyone, but I am just really angry that even using glue didn't help to keep them shut. What did I need to use? Duct tape? Sheesh.

Wow, that's crazy! I was thinking of you on Friday because DH and I attended an Indian wedding and I was absolutely in awe of the size and detail of everything, as well as all of the parties and events they had to put on the week of the actual wedding. I have a completely new understanding of what your going through.

They were from our stationer (etsy vendor)--the envelopes were a metallic finish, and I'm thinking that may have played a part in why the glue didn't keep them together. What I don't get is that I have 5 invitations that I handwrote on Friday that I haven't sent that the seal is pretty tight on. At this point with over 100 invitations out in post office land, and this being the third business day that they've been out, I'm not sure that there is anything that we would be able to do. :(

I know it doesn't help now...but that coulod be a cause..
