Yeah, that'd be why I didn't tell you not to. Just pointed out that your post was redundant. Which you can be, I'm not telling you otherwise.

Anyway kids, I'm off for my 4-day weekend! Have a good one.
• I haven't gotten much work done today. Or yesterday. I find you gals all too interesting lately :)
And I have to shower still to be at a rehearsal dinner in an hour and a half...but I don't want to log off. What a dilemma.
• I helped myself in the 'spensive Starbucks department by switching to cheaper McDonald's coffee. Iced is only $1.50 or something maybe and Frappe is maybe $2. I don't the exact costs because I also factor in my biscuit. And it's still cheaper.

• I love Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Shiit. I'm psyched it's this time of year so that i can enjoy it.

Dunkins pumpkin coffee is way too sweet. It annoys me that they pre-sweetened it. It annoys me more than coffee probably should actually.

Anyone have a Keurig? We just got one for our wedding and I am in LOVE.
Can I switch my involvement to the IUD conversation? I want one, I'm getting bored of the hormones in Depo, and tired of yo-yoing with my weight. Of course, I blame Depo for gaining and loosing twenty pounds three times instead of my lifestyle...lol. But Doc says no, cause my uterus has not homed any babies. Apparently the risk of uterine rupture is higher for those who have not be pregnant because their uterus has never expanded.
Posted by Wrkn925
Just had to jump in on this one, as others said you definitely don't have to have had a baby to get one. Yes the risk of uterine rupture or having your body expel the IUD is higher if you haven't (and insertion might be a bit more painful because your cervix has never "stretched" before) it is still not that high. I've had one for 2 years now (mid-20's, never been pregnant) and I LOVE it. I didn't have problems having it put in (some cramps but not too bad) and I haven't had to think about BC for 2 years. Plus because I have the Mirena (which has hormones) I basically stopped getting my period. I think they're recommended for women in an LTR because the strings of it could make it easier to get an infection, but I don't think it's a problem to use condoms with them too (don't quote me on that though, not sure if the strings could cause problems with condoms).
They can be expensive upfront ($500-600 with no insurance) but since they last for so long (5 years for Mirena or 10 for the copper one) it can actually be less costly in the long run. I actually got mine free from PP because I was poor when I had it put in and had crappy crappy insurance which didn't cover BC (which I think is terrible, but another issue), I think you can also get them on a sliding scale there depending on income (side note I also LOVE PP, they have been some of the best OB/GYNs I've been to and so concerned with the patients).
I really think it's a shame that more people don't know about IUDs in the US because I've raved to my friends about mine and none of them had ever considered them or even really knew they were still around. It's mainly because of the Dalkon Shield in the 70's which was a defective brand which led to infections and some deaths which is why the IUD is out of favor here now, it's much more popular overseas, especially in China acutally.
Sorry for the long post, but I've had such a good experience with my IUD and I think it's a great option that so many women don't know about. Less hormones than the pill (which were a big problem for me) or no hormones at all and so convenient (I also suck at taking pills on time).

OMG I cannot WAIT for our wedding cake! I confess that when I think about our wedding day and how it will be on that day the cake is probably one of the top 3 things that on my list of "cannot waits". I actually asked my planner to pack us some to take on or honeymoon the next day. #dontjudgeme LOL

• if this thing is still on, i would also like to confess that i think i have/had BDD (yes,im a self diagnoser). i used to get dressed in the dark and do my make up in not full lighting b/c i hated how i looked and my skin was awful due to acne and scarring. needless to say dressing and make up in the dark really doesn't help at all, but i am over that now!!!!! i have always thought i weighed more than i do - i used to by size large clothing (i still have some) when i really was a size small.

thanks to an awesomely awesome derm, some SUPER laser procedures and some other procedures, working out and eating healthy and talking abt my issues (i got issues) i LOVE myself and how i look, and i dont judge anyone who has cosmetic procedures at all, unless it becomes addictive - which i see how it can.

• and i am a newb, so i fully expect that no one will respond LOL, but i did want to confess for some reason, mainly b/c i just discovered recently that i am pretty darn hot when i buy clothes that actually fit me lol

I did see that. I chose to ignore it. Mandy doesn't know what she sprecken ze about. No she does not. She thought hobbits were from Harry Potter. Trufax.

Also, Timmies coffee is the suck. It's like used motor oil. The only thing they're good for are Ice Caps and Timbits.

Andalsoagain, no Spechtholdn, this is definitely nowhere near a record long thread :)

Now that I've finished resurrecting a day-old thread, back to your regular knotting everyone!

• Mmmmm, Timmys ice caps. Don't taunt me unless you want to mail one out here! AND we don't have dunkin. And FI is from Boston. It's sad.

I'd be really surprised if my FI knew how many times a week I went to Starbucks, or cared. I sure a hell don't know how often he gets coffee or buys lunch. I try to keep it to one or two times a week, but that's mostly due to not needing the calories.

• JCBSJR- That car is bad ass! PLEASE, tell me you are using it for wedding pictures.

Aurora- I'm on the IUD soapbox with you, without having one. I did everything short of stomp my feet and hold my breath to get Doc to give me one. I am in a LTR, so that's not an issue. I want to print off your story and show it to Doc. I go Tuesday for my next shot,. I wish I would've got on the ball and found a GYN that would do it for me.
Funny thing with my insurance: If doc bills it as medical supply, insurance pays 100%. But Doc had been burned, and wanted me to pay supplier before it mailed so he wouldn't get stuck with it, and insurance would pay 0% if I had to do that.
Then he remembered I've never been pregnant, and backed down before we ordered. DAMN HIS MEMORY!
I honestly hate my Doc. He's always in a hurry, requests too many tests, and asks me about the job I left years ago when he gets me in stirrups.
I just haven't gotten on the ball and shopped around.

• BTW, am I correct to assume that we crashed the Etiquette board yesterday?
Someone else said they had issues the same time I did.

If we are responsible for that, I do believe there should be a badge for it, just for our awesomeness.
In Response to Re: Flammable Confessions : Well duh. I mean, no offense to your mom, but if she hadn't been born, she wouldn't be here to complain about not being born. KWIM? It's like people who say that when you abort you could be aborting the next Einstein. Yeah, or the next Hitler. Take your pick. (PS, women who have to abort for non-medical reasons are probably not about to give birth to the next Einstein.)

Mery, normally I agree with you (even if I don't come out and say it, I'm usually nodding in agreement at what you say), but what does this even mean? How are those two related? Perhaps I'm missing something. I would really like to know.
Sorry if you've explained it already, but I can't sift through 14 pages right now to find it.

Because intellegence is both hereditary and based on the environment. Somebody who isn't bright enough to use BC but keeps getting pregnant likely wouldn't be giving her child the best IQ genes (a generalization, I know). If she also feels like she is in no position to raise a child, her child will also probably not get the most educational toys, stimulating activities, etc. There's a reason smart, well-educated parents often seem to have intellegent kids.

Of course, this is all a generalization and definitely not always the case.

Okay, that highlighted bit makes lots of sense. I don't necessarily agree with the rest of it - at least the way Mery made it sound, that anyone who messes up even once and aborts was likely to produce a stupid baby anyway - but thank you for clarifying.
