I got a license with no restrictions at 17 in NJ. They have since made the laws much stricter.

On my 16th birthday, even so I had strep throat. I grew up in a small, rural town. If you didn't have a license you didn't have a life.

I got my permit when I turned 16 and my actual license 5 months later.

16 and change. In FL, you had to have had your permit for six months and be at least sixteen, and I'd waited a bit longer than 15 and a half to get my permit. I don't have one now, though, ha.

A few days after my 16th birthday. My birthday is July 3rd and so they're always closed the next day..I was on Vacation for my birthday as we frequently did growing up so I had to wait til I got back. I got my first Car when I was 15 though..it was awesome learning in my own car and being able to take my test in it..I sure do miss that car..it fell apart on me.

I was 17. I failed the first time. Not enough practice, too many nerves. I'm a good driver now, though, I swear!

One month before I turned 19. I did NOT want to drive and held out as long as I could. I even had a car (an old crappy one) a year before I had my license.

I got my permit at 16 but my license at 17, my sister used to drive me around so i wasnt in a rush to get it until she graduated from HS and then i needed to get it or had to take the bus=(

My dad had a rule that we couldn't get our license until 18. (He had a cousin who got his license at 16, got a car and crashed it and died. They were very close and I think to this day it still haunts my dad.) At that point I was away at college and only upperclassmen were allowed cars so I waited til after graduation and got my license at 22.

On my 17th birthday. Same as PP, no restrictions in NJ. The year after I got my lisence NJ added restricted lisences.

I was nearly 17. I got it just before school started my Junior year of high school. We only had 1 car for the family and I wasn't really in a hurry.

I was 16. Don't remember exactly how long I was 16 before I got it or if it was on my birthday...but pretty sure I got it soon after turning 16 because I was one of the first people in my grade to have one and drive to school.

i was 20, it was a month before my 21 birthday. i wasnt in a hurry because i lived on campus in college and they had shuttles if you needed to go some where. the only reason i got my license was because i had a summer internship and i needed to have transportation to get there.

My uncle got me a beater car for my 17th birthday but it sat at my grandparents house for a couple of years before they donated it to get it off their property. it barely ran when he got it so it wasnt really a safe car for me to drive.

My brother is following a similar path as me, his 21 birthday is next week and he just started drivers ed yesterday. He really needs his own transportation in order to get a job in our area.

I got mine at 16 +nearly four months. I remember we went on December 23 and the next day I drove my siblings and I to the grocery store to get cool whip.
