NEED A DJ ON A BUDGET

Help i need a DJ!!!! The wedding is in November and my check list says i'm on track but i want to book the DJ already so i can check it off my "to-dos".

It seems that there are alot of bad reviews on the boards for the Pros photo and video but i was wondering if anyone has used them or been to a wedding where they were the DJs. There standard package is only $700 and includes simple lighting. i feel like this is too good to be true. I keep thinking he's going to show up with an ipod and speaker lol

    Haven't used the Pros but try Dave at Extreme Sounds - he's based out of the Bronx but will travel anywhere - very reasonable...Msg me for more info

    I'm interested. Does he offer dj service and lighting for around the same price?

    Keep in mind that the pros lighting is not uplighting that most dj p[ackages refer to.  The pros lighting is one of those black light balls that send the "club lights" from the dj booth

    We're working with Mike A. at Gemini.  He's awesome and their prices are reasonable.  We're getting a bunch of extras, but you obvi don't need to do that.  They're located in Wayne.

    That $700 does seem too good to be true, and frankly the DJ is one of the most important parts of your wedding - he/she is what keeps the party moving.  In my opinion you get what you pay for, so def stay in your budget, but don't sacrifice on the DJ.

    I agree with this 100%.  $700 is very cheap for a DJ.  If you bump your budget up to $1200-$1500 you will get a better DJ.  The music and food are what people remember.  So if I were you I would try to cut corners somewhere else to get a quality DJ.  With that being said we are using Danny C who has got nothing but rave reviews.
