Children of the 70s?

As FI began moving his stuff in (baby steps, small boxes) this weekend, the conversation went something like this:

LISA: "I'm gonna be shackin' up!"  He gave me the side-eye and I asked why.
FI: "That's so ... 70s!"
LISA: "Yeah baby, that's me, a child of the 70s."
FI:  "I prefer living together."
LISA: "Well, at least it is better than living in sin in the 60s!"

That made me think, what other phrases do we use when describing our relationships that aren't so popular any more?

LMAO.......My fiance is a "fox" or "hunk" (in my eyes). He's really groovy too.
    "Make Love Not War",

My son recently teased me for calling marijuana "pot".........I guess that's pretty 70's too. At least I didn't say "reefer" like they called it in the 40's.

    He's so "baaaaaaaaaaaaaddd", ya know?

Like, at least we didn't like say "like" all the time. Or another of my pet peeves from this generation......"so he goes like X, and I go like X".......the word is SAID.......not "goes".

[QUOTE]When I was house shopping several years ago....this family obviously hadn't decorated since the 70s. Harvest gold appliances, and the basement was covered - and I do mean COVERED, walls, floor and ceiling - with red shag carpet.

Did they have one of these in the basement?

When we moved into this house, there was a room in the basement that had black walls and a bar.  And a bathroom that was wallpapered with Time magazine covers.  Alas, we had to destroy these monuments to the 1960s when we remodeled the basement to create living space for the live-in nanny.

Please tell me you kept the lava lamp and the roach clip - or are they circa 70s?  Sorry I can't remember.
