Oct 12th Brides

8 Months!

As soon as I realized I am at the 8 month mark, I started to panic.  I haven't done anything wedding related in a few weeks now.   How's everyone else feeling?
S'mores. Just S'mores please.

Re: Oct 12th Brides

  • am i the only one that's just excited??  lol

i mean, yes, there's still lots to do and i know the time will feel like it's flying, but i'm just so excited to get married!  to see my FI face when he sees me walking down the aisle, to be surrounded by all my friends and family so happy for us both, to dance the whole night in happiness!

okay, my world really isn't all puppies and rainbows as all that just sounded but i really am excited!

Rochelle - What was your melt down about?

I was full steam ahead until a few weeks ago.  I've been in a rut since.  I have been running like a fiend and I start bootcamp tomorrow.  I imagine my 'tude will turn around within the week.

Edited: to stop whining. No one wants to read that.

We have the cake done.  Paid off my dress yesterday.  Need to make an appointment for my first fitting but they say to make it now even though it isn't until July.  I just finished addressing my Save the dates.  Now I need to put stamps on them and our stickers for the back as well as stamping our return address on to them.  Next week we have our flower appointment!  Yikes I just need to get to the end of march before I can relax again!

  • I'm an October 12th Bride.

I have some stuff done: Venue, Date, Caterer (Including linens and settings), Save The Dates sent, and our ceremony musician is booked.  I DID make the website and launched it.  I also know that we're gonig to do a ring warming.

However, I haven't done any attire, any wedding party picking or attire, I haven't decided on an officiant, or a florist--even if we're having a florist, photography, videography, photobooth, reception music, invitations, hotel block, and a billion other things I'm forgeting.

Makes me feel like I'm a bit behind!
  • I'm excited. I've booked venue, photographer, caterer, stationary, dress, and I know what I want to do for dj and flowers (i just need to do it) so I'm in a pretty good position. :)

  • A ring warming is a part of the ceremony where the rings (in little bags) are passed through the guests giving them a chance to do a short prayer or blessing or loving wishes with them, so by the time they are used by the bride and groom, the rings are "warmed" with the love of those around them, filled with positive energy.   We thought it was a good compromise on religion--we aren't religious but many close to us are.  We son't be doing any formal prayers, but it's a way those that choose to can pray if they wish.

<div>My meltdown related to FI dragging his feet in collecting his addresses.  He sent his mom an email last week about addresses and never followed up.  Come to find out, he sent it to an email she no longer has and, thus, never got the email.  FI then wanted me to give him the list again with the addresses we still needed.  I just burst into tears, crying, "I can't do this again with you!!!"  Haha.  He had no clue what to do.</div>

  • @shannie where are you getting your fitting done..I am trying to figure it out.  Since I bought my dress at a babc event Im kinda lost
  • LOL @Rochelle.  Sorry to laugh but I have these moments too and they make me laugh when I look back.  I remember once I had a truly terrible day at work.  Spent the whole ride home feeling sorry for myself for lots of reasons and when I got home I went to find my running shoes.  As I was tying them I started to cry so I laid on the floor, shoes half on just sobbing like a wreck.  It was when I learned there was NO hope of us being able to elope.

<div>I have only one big hurdle to go and that's the catering. Probably also the hotel rooms, but mostly the catering. And being phone-phobic isn't helping. Suggestions? Haha. </div>

Can you do anything you have left over e-mail? I'm doing a lot of my planning this way with the caterer, photographer, officiant, and hotel because I just don't have the time to sit on the phone with all of these people.

I've come to realize that most people, when asked, are willing to communicate this way.

    Good luck!
