What is your weirdest/strangest/ illogical fear?

Mine is that I will get in a car accident when the subject of a high speed chase careens into me.

i also have a legit phobia of speaking on the telephone. Having caller ID has made it a thousand times worse.

I'm terrified that when people come over my house will be smelly and dirty. I'm major OCD about cleaning and yet still think my house smells.

Being caught under and iceberg or under water is number one by far. I HATE the second half of Titanic for this fact. When I see a drowning scene in a movie I have to physically take deep breaths myself.

Also, I constantly have Nebb type dreams about tsunamis, earthquakes and tornados. I have had a giant wave dream once a week since childhood. I am a freak

I posted this in a thread the other day but I'm terrified of pool drains.

I'm also deathly afraid of cockroaches. This is brought on by the fact that I found one in my house two weeks ago when I've lived in the same place for two years and have never even seen a bug - I literally had a panick attack and stood in the same spot for 45 minutes while I threw things at it and tried to spray it with hairspray.

Balloons popping, sharks attacking me in lakes/pools, a bridge collapsing while I'm on it, an underwater tunnel exploding while I'm in it (we drove through one in Baltimore last weekend - eek!)

Clowns and spiders. If perhaps someone makes a spider clown or clown spider I think I'll die from fear.

I'm also terrified of getting trapped inside my car while it catches fire and having my whole face melt off so that I have to live the rest of my life with no ears, nose, lips or hair.

and Gretch, I can NOT drive over even the smallest bridge without thinking about it collapsing. You know Mike is an engineer so I am constantly bothering him with questions about bridge safety. He thinks I am insane.

Ugh sharks in pools, oceans, lakes....etc. Doesn't help that FI is badgering me to go on a shark feeding scuba dive on our honeymoon. I think he's trying to feed me to the sharks.

Natural water and fish. I don't swim in any natural water, only a pool filled with chemicals.

I'm also afraid of clowns and Santa Claus. There's not one picture of me smiling with him.

Same here with sharks int he pool. When I was little I would make my dad stand in the pool because if I was alone in it I just knew a shark would come out of a drain and attack me from the deep end.
I don't know if I still have that phobia, the last time I was in a pool was over 5 years ago. That makes me sad...

Bees...and wasps...and hornets. If they get near me and I can't get away I'll start shaking uncontrollably and having an asthma attack.

Also, every time I come around a bend on a highway, I'm sure someone driving the wrong way will be coming toward me in my lane and kill me.

And my car going missing. I think it's because it was my first major purchase... I have had nightmares about it not being parked in the driveway or in front of the house and have had to go and check. I know, wierd!

I've always hated needles and shots, I go into panic attack mode. It's not the pain, but the actual sight of a syringe that freaks me out.

I have an overpowering fear I'll get hit by lightening during storms if I'm carrying an umbrella or if I'm in a car (my mom instilled this in me)

ditto on being paranoid about my house being smelly even though it's clean. I burn incense all the time.

Me too! IT is one of my favorite books, but I'm too scared to watch the movie because of this.

Also, I have an irrational fear of my food touching. I can't eat it unless all the individual foods on my plate are fully separate.

The first morning in our old apartment I walked out at 5:30am to go to work and my car was no where to be found. I called the cops in a panic that it had been stolen. Turned out it was towed because the person who did the permit checks "didn't see" the permit hanging on my damn mirror.

Oh, hell NO. My friends wanted me to go shark feeding in Australia, and I told them that they were crazy. Thankfully they were all too broke to do it because they stopped hounding me about it. I know that the best way to beat a fear is to face it, but this is one fear that I hope to NEVER come face to face with!

Meg - Once when we were driving over a bridge in NY/NJ, N was like "Did you know that this is one of the most unsafe bridges in the northeast?" I almost killed him! Wrong timing! And then I once got stuck on a bridge for 3 hours in traffic and wanted to die. Die!

Yeah, you guys really shouldn't see the movie then, creepy clown turns into also creepy spider. I don't have a problem with clowns and that movie freaked me out.
