To wear my scandinavian wedding crown or not?

ok I need some imput here.
I am swedish but getting married to an american here in philly.
I wanted to try and incorporate more swedish traditions in my wedding and a while back I decided to make a traditional swedish wedding crown. It's a very old tradition and not something that I've seen done here in the states. I make jewelery as a hobby so I designed and made my own version of a crown in sterling silver and added cz all around it for some extra sparkle. I really love how it turned out. But now I am worried that people might think I look stupid wearing it...

What do you think? Crazy? Good? Bad?   I just can't decide...














This isn't exactly the hair I will wear but I wanted to show you how the crown is worn.

    I think you should wear it! It would allow you to keep some of your own traditions, and its pretty!

    I think you should wear it, and if you're really concerned about people wondering about it, put a little bit in the program about the tradition.

    I am so impressed that you made that! It's beautiful. I think you should wear it. It's a lovely tradition, and I love to see different cultures incorporated into a wedding.

    Thank  you ladies. That is a good idea to put something in the program about it! If I decide to wear it (I am leaning that way) I have to remember to do that.

    I'm impressed that you made that :) I think you should definitely wear it for at least the ceremony, I think its cool that you are incorporating tradition into your wedding!

    I would definitely wear it!!! It's your tradition, you should be proud to wear it!!! Who cares what people say (and most people would just say "wow! That's amazing- she looks beautiful, etc")

    Wear it as it is part of you and where you come from.Like PP's have said you can always put a blurb in the programs about it.

    i think it's very pretty - and i'm impressed that you made it yourself, but i ditto the idea of putting something in the program that explains it...b/c otherwise, i've got to be honest, i'd look at you and go 'wtf does that chick have on her head?'

    maybe it's just me.  but if you explain it, i think you would get much less of that reaction.  and i do really like the idea of incorporating your heritage into the ceremony.

    And I ditto the above poster who suggested you put it in the program. Not only will that explain what you're wearing, but it will enrich your guests on Swedish culture and tradition. Very neat!

    A thousand times yes.

    It's original, absolutely beautiful, and has meaning.  Way better than just jamming a tiara on your head for some sparkle (not hating on the tiaras, just like this better!)
