Hi ladies,
Just popping in for your shopping expertise. I'm starting my new job in a little over a week, and I want a new laptop bag. My old bag is pretty large, and I'm getting a 13" MacBook Pro that begs for a smaller bag.
I bought this Dakine bag from Amazon (my regular purse is a tiny Dakine backpack). It's cute, but it's a little bigger than I wanted.

A friend suggested just buying a large purse. So at Ross today, I found this cute Nine West tote. It's just like the picture, but the white part is teal. I couldn't find the teal photo.

This bag is a little smaller than the Dakine bag, but I tested it with my MacBook, and it fits fine. I would also purchase a neoprene laptop sleeve for additional padding, but even with a sleeve, the cost would be around $40 (the other bag was $35).
What do you think? I want something fun but still professional. I want it as small as possible, but still able to carry the laptop and charger. H liked the Dakine bag because it was more plain than the Nine West tote (his laptop goes in the most boring plain black bag ever).
If you want to make other suggestions, I welcome them! I searched quite a bit for laptop bags but wasn't finding much. I haven't looked much at larger purses/totes. Here are my requirements:
-Cute! Subjective, yes, but I trust you.
-Under $50
-Smaller than my current bag, which is about 16" x 14" but is at least 13" x 10" (the Dakine is 15" x 12" and even smaller is preferred)
-No leather, though the price point basically excludes leather anyway
-Has room for the power cord, mouse, etc
