Hi Everyone,
  I am new to this board. I have my venue,dj and caterer booked. I was planning on booking cake and flowers way down the road as we are also buying a house right now. After reading some posts I see people are already looking in to that. Is it bad to wait til the fall/winter??

    No it's perfectly fine to wait until fall or winter. I was going to wait myself but I'm on a roll and just really want to get everything booked so I just don't have to worry about it. Gives me more time to deal with the smaller details.

    I agree with ktwed1....I think you can wait. 

    I am booking mine this month, but that is because my wedding is in a different city than I live in and I am trying to do something everytime I go home just to make it easier. Luckily my florist is a family member so I will be working with her over Christmas to go and check out whole saler. I have been disappointed to find out though that a few of the flowers I was hoping to use are not available in late June Cry

    I'm waiting, mostly because most florist and bakers can do multiple events in one day so it's not such a huge race to book them. We're planning on finding a baker over the winter and probably a florist around the late spring so I can actually see what will be available to me.

    Completely agree with cnf. I havent booked them yet because those vendors do multiple events in one day, so it is unlikely you will be turned away, I plan on booking a cake and flowers in the fall sometime. I noticed you didnt list photographer though, if you dont have one yet that is something I would get on ASAP.

    I called and spoke to the florist I want and they wouldn't even make an appointment with me until the fall and told me to call back then. I might do some cake tasting over the summer just because who doesn't like free cake and then FI and I can seriously start to think about where we want to get our cake.

    Thanks. My friends soon to be sister in law is going to be my photographer. I will not officially book her until we are moved into the house. Soo stressful. I cant wait til we are in and then I can concentrate on the wedding :)
