what color hair piece for bridesmaids

I am having all little girls in my bridal party and its on the beach so keep that in mind.  Their dresses are blue and some are blue and ivory.  I'm wearing ivory and the groom is wearing a charcoal suit with a fuchsia tie with a lighter pink shirt.  The flowers are different shades of pink with yellow and orange.  What color should I make the flowers for the little girls hair?  Also what do you suggest for the boutonniere color for groom, and ring bearer who is wearing a ivory shorts suit?  color for the Mother of the brides wristlet too?  Thanks

Re: what color hair piece for bridesmaids

  • So you are using blue, ivory, fuschia, lighter pink, yellow and orange? Wow, that is going to be such a beautiful colorful wedding! :-)

For the groom - I would stay away from the blue. If you like the idea of simple, you could do ivory for the men. However, I would do some combination of the pink, yellow and orange. Try to tie it in with his shirt and the flowers.

For the RB - since he is wearing all ivory? I would definitely do colorful flowers. Again, I would stay away from the blue and go with the pink/yellow/orange. It doesn't have to match the groom's, simply complement it.

You could use that same logic for the FOB and FOG, if they will be wearing bouts as well. Yellow/pink/orange that complements the groom's bout.

For the little girls - I would go with blue and ivory. For the girls who have all blue dresses, I would definitely do ivory.

I would not do the pink/yellow/orange for them because with the blue dreses, it's just too much. Ditto with the men. Stick with what they are wearing, IMHO.

For the moms - find out what colors they are planning on wearing. Also, what color are YOUR particular flowers? Those two things will definitely influence what you chose for the ladies. I would say you could go either in the direction of the little girls - ivory and blue - or in the direction of the groom and the RB - yellow, pink and orange - but again it all depends on what they are wearing,

GL! I hope all that helps you! :-)

  • Thank you so much socialworker2B that was very helpful.  What if I decide to put a matching blue bow tie in the RG, what color scheme would I do then.  Also the MOB and MOG have not decided what they are wearing yet so should I stick with a neutral ivory?
  • Oh, a blue bow tie - super cute! Okay, so then with his blue and ivory attire - I would go with blue instead of the bright flowers. He can match the little girls and you and your groom can be the ones with the pretty pink/yellow/orange flowers. That would definitely work well. I

f you do not decide to do the bowtie and he is just in all ivory, you could still do blue to match his female counterparts or you could do the bright flowers to complement the groom. It's really just a matter of personal preference at that point but me, I would do the blue because now that I think about it more, I love the idea of him and the little girls matching and you and your FI matching.

For the moms - yes, I would stick with the neutral ivory. Because say you pick pink/yellow/orange and they decide to wear green - not so good. You can't possibly go wrong with ivory.

GL bleemac, this sounds like it is going to be such a beautiful wedding! :-)
