SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

Sup losers. :)

I am sore like a mofo as I upped all my weights at the gym yesterday. I also tried to make onion dip with low fat sour cream which turned out repulsive and was almost attacked and robbed in the walmart parking lot. My saturday rocked.

Does anyone have anything fun or big today? I think I might make breakfast for H in a bit and then start some cleaning. I really want to go clothes shopping as we have a family event next weekend but I don't think the big man will be up for it. Maybe a glass of wine and online shopping then :)

Re: SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

  • I can't help but wake up early on the weekend. I was up at 5 but stayed in bed until 6.

H's little cousin is having her first communion so I need a dress for that. I have found a few I like at Macys but have never ordered online from them so I think we can just wait that one out.

  • I wanted to sleep in, I told FI he HAD to sleep in as well so I could since we didnt have anything to do or anywhere to be lol (we have two dogs & if either of us wake up they wake up too and go crazy so its hard to sleep after that haha), Fi woke up at 6:30 and woke me up then too. I never get to sleep in anymore =/

  • Trip to the garden and grocery stores, then gardening.  And that's it.  :)
  • Wait, what happened at Walmart?
  • I need to go to the grocery store and do some laundry. We might go bowling today. Not too much which I'm glad for since I was in training all day yesterday.

  • Rosie, glad your okay, come back and tell us what happened at Walmart.

I got to sleep into 8:30 am.  That is late for me.  Wedding DIY projects today and bonding with my daughter who is home from college for the weedend.  We are going to an early movie today and then heading down into the city to check out the lilacs and tulips that are in full bloom.

It is the best to have her home again.

  • Hmm...The elves didn't finish our floors or fix our wall while we were sleeping.

    damn elves.
  • Mun1, what room are you redoing at your house?
  • Morning!

I just got back from the grocery store.

Cat is fed, turtle is fed and I am munching on chips, trying to forget the fact that I have a ton of water in my trunk to lug up here.
  • Ugh, don't say water, hockeyfan, my daughter and I have 240 labels to put on water bottles today for the wedding.  I need to lug them to the family room now to start working on them.

    All of them, Ski.

    ...all of them.

We tiled one bathroom last weekend and the kitchen the weekend before that.  We've finished putting down laminate in the living and dining rooms this weekend and are trying to finish the hallway, spare bedroom and our bedroom today.

We went to do the office yesterday and discovered that the bottom of my bookcase was rotten...as was the carpet pad and tackboard.  Turns out there's a leak in the wall from outdoors and the whole part of the wall behind the bookcase is rotted out.  So that was an awesome discovery.  So glad we made it 15 days before our wedding.  It's been quite a weekend.
  • Oh Mun1, that stinks.  Sounds like you and FI are super handy and SUPER Motivated!  Holy cow, all this and 15 days our from the wedding.  You make me tired just thinking about it.
  • Ski: I know your sig says it is three generations....but I always see it and assume you and your daughter are sisters :)
  • Good morning....
I need to go to the grocery store, and probably Target today.  Nothing else too exciting on the agenda.  I need to let the office know that the dishwasher doesn't work.  The soap dispenser doesn't pop open.  So now I'm annoyed, but at least I figured it out before I used all the dishes that I put in there.

Rosiebutt - come back and tell us the Wal-mart story.

MUN- Are you INSANE?  What possessed you to do major home repair work 15 days before your wedding?  There is no way I would have signed up for that 15 days before mine.  Props to you!!
  • Morning girls!

Rosie, your experience at Walmart sounds scary - what happened?!

MUN - I love your new sig pic.  You are way too pretty!

Ski - have fun \with your daughter!  What movie are you going to see?

As for me.....not much on the agenda today  I did a big Target haul yesterday.  I am officially back on my diet as of today.  I was never really NOT on it but I was slipping, so I'm starting to track calories again. Ugh.  I only put on 2-3 lbs since I started slacking but my body felt like it was much more than that.

In good news, it'll be in the upper 60's today and then the forecast looks like consistent 70's and 80's from here on out - it's about time!  After the super warm March we had, it's been pretty cold.  Yesterday I don't think it even broke 50 degrees.  I am so ready for spring!  We're having our pool opened next Monday, which is a little bit ridiculous, but whatever.
  • Morning! I'm still in bed, hungover from last night, but had a great night with friends. It was much needed. Dancing and having a good time.

My plans today consist of laundry and laying by the pool. I might throw working out in there too. I really wanna go to breakfast right now, but no one is around.

  • I want to hear the Walmart story too.

I'm up oddly early for a Sunday, not quite sure what to do with myself. I'll prrobably get in some writing in between grading. Last night I had a dream tthat Fall semester started and I was teaching my first class and totally tanked. And my brrother was in the class and told me I sucked. So now I'm even more nervous for the Fall.

Sorry for any double letters too lazy to fix them. I got a new laptop and the keyboard is  more sensitive than my old one. I'm still getting used to it. Either my old laptop had  less sensitive keys, or they are so gunked up from dust and cat fur that I jjust had to type harder.
  • Yes, yes we are insane.  completely and utterly insane.  Driven to insanity by our hatred of the heinous carpet in our condo.

Actually we had planned to do it two weeks ago, but the flooring didn't come in early enough.

We have so many OOT guests that have never been to our home and might not see it again. , and we didn't want them to see the ghastly carpet.  We'd updated pretty much everything else that we've planned to.

Luckily we only have a few small things to do for the wedding other than finishing writing the ceremony (which FI will do at his office anyway), so at least there isn't wedding stuff to contend with too.  Also FI's family seems to have dediced that being douchebags two weeks before the wedding is a higher level of assy than they want to be.
  • Sitting by the pool sounds kind of nice.  I may go do that later.  We'll have to see how it goes.

  • Morning guys. Since today is not, in fact, Monday and I do not have to work, I am determined to clean today. De. Term. Ined.
  • All of my cleaning supplies are in Ohio and I refuse to buy new mops and brooms (or a vaccuum) so cleaning will wait until H gets everything moved here :).  I asked him to try to get the cleaning supplies on the back of the truck so we can make a sweep through before we start bringing stuff in.
  • Morning.  I'm trying to get the house halfway presentable so our friends that are coming over later don't think we're total pigs.  We're going to try and get the shed moved over to my mom's today.  Other than that, I just need to do more studying.

Rosie, please don't get attacked.  Also, I've been using fat free Greek yogurt for dips, and it's amazing.

    Morning.

    Rosie what happend at WalMart?

I woke up before 6 with a dog on my head.  Like his face was on my cheek.  Grr.   I took them out, fed them then went back to sleep.  I had some pretty F'd up dreams when I went back to sleep.  I woke up more tired than when I woke up earlier.  I think I should have stayed up.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go see Bruce Springsteen alone.   Part of me wants to, the other part thinks it might be more of PITA.  It takes a little while to get there because of traffic.  He doesn't go on until 4:30.  Chef eats at 5:30.  So that will mess him up.  Not a huge deal, but I hate to mess that up since we have being doing so well.  I will be by myself.  That would kind of suck.    But I love Bruce.  He was my first real concert I went to.

    decisions, decisions.

ETA - I ended up taking a long time to write this.  Sorry if Rosie has replied in the mean time.

  • Morning. H is currently having a freak-out about laundry detergent.

My mom is still in the hospital. She was supposed to go home on Friday. She might get to leave the hospital tomorrow, but if she does, she'll be going to a rehab center. She is pissed.

  • Lynda - when I'm going to be gone over Autumn's normal eating time, I split her dinner up and give her half before I leave, and half when I get home.  Once in a while it's not a big deal.
  • Lynda, I've been making detergent using this (clicky) recipe. I made a quarter batch, and it's been working wonderfully. I've seen plenty of other recipes for this online, and they all say they're HE safe. It doesn't hurt that it works out to be about $0.05 per load.

H is now worried that it'll break the washer. Then he started worrying that the ingredients wouldn't be mixed all the way, so he wants to have a bin of each ingredient, then have me mix them for each batch. He's currently pricing tiny glass jars so I can portion out each load.

    The man is crazy.

<div>I'm sorry, I just have to laugh at the thought of him pricing out glass jars.</div><div>
</div><div>I wanted to make my own detergent in St Thomas.   I got most of the ingredients and then could not find one of them in the islands.  I even contacted the company and they said that indeed they do not sell it down there.   Once you add in shipping costs to get it down there all the cost savings was gone.  Maybe I should try again now that I'm in civilization.</div><div>

  • Special, I used to make something similar but it was in a liquid form.  Then I got lazy.
