Yesterday my wonderful FI got a great promotion and a BIG raise to go with it. We are so excited! He has only been with his company for about a year, so this was a pretty big deal for him.
I'd like to get him some sort of "Congrats" present, but I am TERRIBLE at gift giving. I was thinking about taking his late grandfather's pocketwatch to a jeweler to get it fixed, as it no longer works and it means a lot to him. Does anyone have any other "man gift" suggestions? Thanks!

According to my FI, and most men I know, that is the most sincere expression of appreciation and/or congratulations that exists. Seriously.

I can confirm this is true.

What kind of profession is he in, maybe a nice briefcase. Or something relating to his job?
As for other man gifts maybe cuff links? If he has that kind of job. They add a little something to the outfit. If hes into vintage/classic design Georg Jensen is the way to go.

This just made me actually LOL. I'm going to have to 4th or 5th the steak and BJ idea.
Eat.Drink.BeMarried. Blog.
Do all three. The watch, the steak and the blowjob and he should be a happy man.
Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
[QUOTE]Does he drink? Maybe a fancy bottle of scotch or classy wine and invite friends over to celebrate (no BJ's for his friends though)

ROFL!!
I like the booze idea though, I'm a big fan of tequila and champagne (not together, barf) so sometimes FI will get me a bottle of an expensive champagne she knows I like, or more Patron if I'm running low. :-)
