I don't like it when people are holding long conversations in the bathroom. I am a shy tinkler. I know I have to go to the bathroom but if it is too noisy I just can't go.

I flame people who go into the bathroom at work and talk on your cell phone. I do not want to listen to you have a conversation while I pee, and I'm sure the person you are talking to does not want to listen to me pee. I get that you work in a cubicle and maybe don't want others to listen to your conversation, but you aren't in private in a public restroom! We have huddle rooms throughout the office, go into one of those. FYI - this is a reoccuring issue with this one lady. Ugh, it's gross.

THIS!!!!! I one time flushed the toilet every ten seconds to disturb this other lady's phone call.

Stephie,
We have the drill team banquet at Piazza every year now. It's very nice!!!!

Kathy,
My FIL is like that. He could have spent $75 to have the dishwasher installed but decided he wanted to be cheap and install it himself. $100 later and five trips to Lowe's, he waited until Bill and my BIL got home for Christmas to install it for him. Did you really save anything?

NIce one juliebug1997, flushing the bathroom so many times. I hate that too. I don't understand why someone would even want to open their mouth in a public restroom.
It's going to be a lovely day!!!

This! I would have fired her a LONG time ago. Deposit be damned. I don't necessarily flame Bridget, though. I can imagine the stress it is causing her right now. But, she started having issues with her a long time ago. You live and you learn. Right now it's a big deal - in the future it won't be.

I think that's the whole deal with the marrieds vs. the not marrieds. It's a big deal to us right now (whether it's trivial or not), because it is causing us a lot of stress and headache. However, we will know after we get married what you already know - it the grand scheme of things - it's not a big deal. But, you can't force us to realize something that we have to learn on our own.
• edited December 2011

But Lacy.. from what I read in some of the earlier posts she mentioned that if she paid a little extra then the MUA would've come earlier and the whole situation would've been resolved ( which it sounded like everything got resolved in the end anyway) so there really wasn't an issue to get so flustered since there was in a fact a way to fix it.

And as others have said, since she started having issues with the MUA from day 1, she probably should've considered getting a different one.

But alas.. we probably should just stop talking about it now...

How I looked on my wedding day was a huge deal to me. That is why I didn't hesitate booking who I thought was the best MUA around, no matter what the cost.

I still don't know why Bridget didn't use her. And if she's stressed now, I don't envy her tomorrow.

I think that's hilarious. Unfortunately I sometimes have to be one of those people though and I hate it! I work at a law firm and when I leave, for any reason, I have to transfer the phone calls to my cell, so yes sometimes I am one of the people on their phone in the bathroom because a client called. On top of that I have to carry post-its which then get put up all over the bathroom walls if more than one person calls. Embarrassing. Sometimes I just don't bother leaving for any reason. So just realize not everyone has a choice in the matter.

YEah, this lady was talking about her banking with her husband/relative etc. They were discussing which accounts to move money around to for some purchase. Then they were talking about some injury and how it would probably be a good idea to ice it down for 30 minutes. IMO- it could have waited 2 minutes for her to finish and leave the restroom.

Mind you, whenever I hear her on the phone, I never actually hear her USING the restroom. Just locked in the stall talking on the phone.

Re: marrieds vs un-marrieds - I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I am not even a married yet, just an un-married who is 95% finished with planning. A lot of times I find myself skipping posts now because I can't get excited anymore about invites or something. I think I have gotten the wedding planning completely out of my system already.

That being said, I wish the DFW Nest was more active because I like you girls and would love to still talk daily once the wedding stage of my life is over. I will probably stick around for awhile after getting married, but I am not sure I won't eventually become snarky about repetitive questions. I know that when I was new I would have turned and run if everyone hadn't been welcoming at the beginning, so I don't want to overstay and turn into that girl.

Any married ladies want to come over to the Nest? It would be pretty boring if it is just the three of us. :)

Thats kinda an extreme reaction. Its just a restroom, and it probably gets cleaned more than your one at home. I hate when people act like its more germy just because more people frequent it. If they would all just use it as it should be used there should be no extra messes.

that may be true, but i'm just WAY more comfortable with my own germs, than with other people's. also, the restroom at my office has that "public restroom smell", which is just Not Right™.

my only defense of bathroom talkers (phone) is that i've worked at companies where the customer service reps were SO tightly scheduled/controlled that they were even timed on their bathroom breaks, so they had to make as much use of those breaks as possible. since they weren't supposed to even have their cell phones out on their desks, i can understand why they would take them to the bathroom. i don't like it, but i get it, in certain circumstances.
