Linen colors question!

So I'm going crazy trying to think of what colors to coordinate my linens for the reception and such. My colors are black, white and lime green.

Originally I wanted to do black chair covers and table cloths with lime green sashes and napkins but I'm thinking that may be too dark. I also don't want to just white and black because white is more the secondary color than a main color.

What are your opinions ladies? I tried finding pictures of reception decor for a black and green wedding.. didn't find much.

Maybe do black chair cover with a lime green sash. Keep the table cloth white and do a black (organza, because you can kinda see through it) overlay. But use one that only covers the top of the table so the white is showing on the bottom. Then use lime green napkins. I think that would look great and it wouldn't be too dark.

Or do black chair covers, with lime green sash. A lime green overlay to match the sash, and black napkins. Leave the white table cloth underneath.

Good idea!! I was kind of thinking about doing a white tablecloth then doing some type of overlay.

It's the plate that goes under the other plates. It's purely for decoration.

Ooooo!! I see! I like that idea!! I wonder if my caterer even has those....She's supposed to be including the china etc.

I would go with black chair covers, green sash, & white table linens. You can tie in more green with your flowers & your favors....

Our colors are ivory, pale yellow, & black. We are going with ivory damask table linens, black chair covers, black napkins, & ivory sashes. Then we'll be tying the yellow in with the centerpieces, rose petals on the table, favor tags on black truffle boxes & menu cards....I've found that with our colors the yellow is really hard to get the right shade, especially in linens...i'd imagine the same is true with your lime green.

So yeah, I'm going for a really elegant table setting, with the nice pop of yellow using the details.

That's my 2 cents!

I would suggest working with your linen coordinator to see some mock-ups. Our colors are ivory, gold and a hint of black and I went in there with one opinion, but when she put together different options, I walked out with what I wasn't expecting...and I LOVE it! Plus, you will be able to look at textures, etc. I really liked the pintuck tablecloth, but when she pulled out the crushed velvet gold (which I didn't even want to look at), I was amazed at how it transformed the table and how the candlelight played off of the color. There are so many options any more that I am sure you will pick something great...I love your color scheme.

VERY TRUE! Its SO hard to match up the greens. Some say lime and its more yellow and some say lime and its more apple green. Craziness!

Also I agree that you should see some mock-ups in person to get an idea of what looks best. I think the table cloth and chair covers in black might look really sharp with a pop of green.

Check out what Rebecca & Chris did with black and hot pink. Similar idea with pink instead of green and IMO it didn't look too dark: http://sites.google.com/site/williamsweddingplanning/married-bio

Its mostly just my MOH acting like she's a wedding coordinator lol. I don't think it will be too dark because of the green. But yea its REALLY hard to see a mock up in person being ALL the way in California. I think I'm heading back there in August but would that be too late to decide?

Being bored at work I FINALLY got the chance to look at Rebecca and Chris' wedding DIY pics etc. OMG! I wish I could do all that myself! It was amazing
