I can't abandon TK completely, at least not yet cause I'm getting married in 46 days...holy crap. I do think they want us to move along after we get married so they can keep these boards full of omg I just got engaged let's talk wedding 24/7. It is of course in their best interest for us to be revved about weddings all the time so we buy their crap. Speaking of wedding crap, I bought tumblers for the bms and gms from Blue Dandelion and they are adorable. Everybody loves them, they were inexpensive and shipped really quick. Jic there is anyone who is looking for wedding stuff. Oh and shark week is on. I may never swim in the ocean again. Or a lake or a pool. Showering is iffy too at this point. • If AYG happens and revolves completely around Edie again, I might rip my hair out. I still like Edie, and the constant shi.t talking is obnoxious.

• Carrot cake with a cream cheese swirl. It smells so freakin good in here!

• Well, I certainly won't be starting an AYG.  I have only actively participated in maybe 3-4 (including FFF) in the past few years.  I rarely have anything truly worthy of griping about.
• I'll probably post both places since I'm new, hope that's ok?
I do not like 99% of all beer.  Just doesn't float my boat.  I'm generally not a drinker at all anyway.  I'd just rather have a good rootbeer or well done punch.  The only beer I've ever enjoyed at all is IPA.
Posted by anna.oskar
<div>Which IPA? (I don't actually expect you to remember, but I have to ask.) I love IPA's, most people think they are too hoppy. Stone IPA is a delicious favorite, most of their stuff is amazing. I am partial to my own IPA, as I brewed it to be exactly what I like. </div>
Abbie I'm a red velvet fan, even tried a truly homemade one for my brother once! I am not a beer fan. FI had one with lime tonight, he was impressed (he is a minimal drinker). I did have a peach one I was ok with at a local brewery once. I prefer wine, or mixed drinks. I'm more of a gin and tonic or dry martini type, I'm enjoying a whiskey sour right now.

<div>Fruit in beer, when done right, is delicious! I brewed a raspberry porter that I was originally skeptical of, but turnned out great. RJ Rocker has a Son of a Peach Wheat Ale that is really good, great for summer. I am currently working on a peach ale, I am planning to make it with honey malts, as I think they will complement each other nicely. </div><div>
</div><div>And yes, I do realize that my last three comments have gone overboard on the beer specifics. </div>

• I'll peek out at my odd hours.

I'm wrapping up my summer/winter/messed up season with my fiance in Australia and packing for our long weekend in Melbourne. I'm moping and depressed and throwing around  my attitude like it's no one's business because I really don't want to head back to the States alone but I can't stay here and finish my training. We've got eleven days left, but then we won't see each other until Christmas.  (boo.  Poor whiny baby.  World's smallest violin, I know.)

My favorite cake: chocolate gf cupcakes from Sticky Buns in DC.  Oh my goodness.  It was like eating real cake again.  YUM.

Some of the women on here got upset that they're beind censored (as per TOS), so they formed their own forum on pro boards. The link is in another post. I don't know how long it's going to last either. Right now, there's 17 people viewing it. GBCN (which is The Nest version) has about 300. When I looked yesterday around 2-3pm, it had 700 viewing. So when people wonder how Nesties made the exodus work, it's easy. They ALL left, not just a handful from 1-2 boards.

Regarding cake, I like anything chocolate. So chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles...I can keep going. And I prefer hummus to dip veggies :)
• Lurker here!  A little late to the party, but hopefully you don't mind.  :)

I really enjoy a good funfetti cupcake with rainbow chip frosting, but my preferred dessert items are either ice cream or tiramisu.

• My name is Maria and I am a lurker. :) I started lurking after all of the, shall I say interesting, people got banned, so I am sad that I missed all of the hoopla.

And how about a cake and beer combination? Chocolate Guiness Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. It's a-ma-zing! But anything with cream cheese frosting is worth the calories.

I forgot this cake exists, but now that you've reminded me, it's pretty much the best thing ever (sorry carrot cake).

• Instead of cream cheese frosting on Guiness cake, I suggest Bailey's frosting. Delicious.

• I'm a lurker too! I've tried to post more but honestly, I'm just not the best at keeping up with message boards. I'm kinda lazy that way. :P

And I like all cake in general. Chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, black forest, it's all awesome. Our wedding cake was vanilla and chocolate layers with a hazelnut cream filling. We just got a miniature version from the bakery for our one year anniversary, and I think that cake added some poundage to my ass.

• I'm kind of late to this, but the best cake ever is Duncan Hines devil's food. I've never tasted another chocolate cake that can beat it. However, if I'm getting a bakery cake, I love white cake. I get a bit disappointed at weddings if they have some exotic flavor of cake.

Dotdash, I like the tumblers. Do the lids snap on or screw on? We bought a couple of tumblers with straws, pretty much like your tumblers, at Target. They have screw-on tops with a rubbery seal to make them not leak, which is important because my honey is clumsy and I've been known to drop my beverage if I'm holding it when my Ambien kicks in. I think tumblers for your wedding party is a great idea.
• Another lurker here!  Well, I popped out last week and maybe once or twice before, but not too much.

I like red velvet with cream cheese frosting, but I'm not much of a cake fan.  Please don't vote me off the island.  Beer, however, is almost always acceptable.

• coopsbaby - here is my favorite recipe for chocolate guinness cake...
http://creamandsugar.ca/chocolate-guinness-cake/

The original recipe is from Nigela Lawson, but she is from the UK and this recipe converts the measurements.

Now if you really want to get crazy, these are my favorite, but they are a lot of work...
