What is the best advice you have gotten/given about wedding planning?: It's one day, things will go wrong, oh well.

Anything else you want to share?: I feel like we're already married since we live together, the wedding will just be a big party to celebrate it!

How did you meet?: Embarrasing, but I walked into my dorm room sophomore year of college in only my towel and he was sitting on my roommate's bed visiting her. He kept coming back to visit (I think secretly hoping I'd be in my towel). And 8 years later, 5 of which being long distance with him in Maryland and me in NJ, we're getting married!

What is the best advice you have gotten/given about wedding planning?: Be your own person and make decisions that you and your FI agree on, and not what everyone else wants. And just enjoy being engaged!

Anything else you want to share?: Long distance relationships are HARD! But I think they definitely prepare you for marriage. We have good, clean fights and we've really learned to communicate!

How did you meet?: We have mutual friends from college and we bumped into each other a few years ago, but I was seeing someone else. A few years later, after my relationship was over, we met again during Memorial Day weekend and the rest is history!

What is the best advice you have gotten/given about wedding planning?:
Definitely do what you enjoy and like. You can listen to other people's opinions but bottomline, its your wedding- enjoy it!

It's your wedding do what you want and do not worry what others say...

Anything else you want to share?: We are slowly planning... I am such a laid back bride... as my co workers told me yesterday I have not stressed about anything... my thoughts... as long as the important things are planned the other things will fall into place... and if not we will make the best of it. As long as we have our wedding ceremony at the church (our thoughts on what is meaningful on the wedding day) then it is one big party after that.. Cannot wait... (pre cana tomorrow)

except I was in a "I hate boys" phase and he kept trying to talk to me so I asked my friend to save me whenever he came over haha FI now admits that he started to hate her for a little while cuz he couldnt get rid of her lol but obviously I gave into his sweetness (and cute Aussie accent) and now my friend is MOH for our wedding

It's MY day!! and the night is for the groom

Anything else you want to share?: agree with Peaches & PP! don't as for too many opinions and don't listen to all the crap you see on tv, websites, emails, wedding shops... so much so unnecessary. and just trust that you're wedding is going to be the most beautiful day you'll ever have

How did you meet?: My mom owned a restaurant, I was a waiter. FI and his friends were joking trying to get my number (btw i thought FI was the ugly one lol) then later that night I ran into him again! He asked a mutual friend for my number, we talked, hung out been together ever since. That was 7 years ago

What is the best advice you have gotten/given about wedding planning?:
Remember that the important thing is that you and FI are there.
Anything else you want to share?: Make sure you do things for you, it's your day. I find that sometimes family can make us do things we really don't want to.

A few things I've learned and/or witnessed...eat something (you are paying for so much amazing food, and you need energy to get through the day), don't drink too much (and spend the majority of the wedding drunk in the bridal suite, you want to remember your day!), don't wear a dress with plastic straps (yes I actually saw a bride wear a "strapless" dress with clear plastic straps), and most importantly, have fun and try to take it all in!

What is the best advice you have gotten/given about wedding planning?: Do what makes us happy. I will never make everyone happy so worry about what we want first! Also, make sure to enjoy the wedding... Say hi to guests but enjoy the food and entertainment as well!
